  1. GloMi watched as the boy whipped around, his eyes going wide with surprise, and then fear. He turned away from her to run.

    "no!" she thought. "wait!!"

To her surprise, the boy stopped then turned around.

"I-I'm sorry," she stuttered, "I didn't mean to hurt you like that, its just..." she hesitated for a moment, seeing a shadow dart in her peripherals. "Its just," she began, then let out a defeated sigh. "I dont like people in my mind," glancing around she noticed the dark clouds gathering above their heads.

"it looks like it's going to storm," she told Alex. "we better be getting back to TWC, or Irin will be worried."

  2. Alex was shocked by her apology. He looked at the ground as they started walking to TWC. "Its okay, I guess." he said, not sure what else to say. "Im sorry too...but...I couldn't help it. They haven't given me the power to control it yet. I...I just look at a person and I know thier secrets. I didn't mean too..." He trailed off, not sure how to explain it, and not sure if he should anyway.

  3. She looked at him with a smile on her lips. She could tell that he was still uneasy about her, but he didn't seem mortally afraid anymore.

"Well, at least your power is harmless to anyone but you," she said with a sigh. "My first ability to show was the torture one. That caught people's attention."

  4. "Secrets are dangerous," The Keeper whispered to himself. He wondered about the girl and her powers. She had said 'first,' as if she had other powers. He nodded and said, "I can see how that could be very bad."

Irin looked around at the empty café. There would be no one to see her if she used magic to clean the mess that had been made when Alex fell. Looking over her shoulder one last time, Irin flicked her fingers and thought the words. The coffee went back into the cup and the cup back onto the table, as if nothing had happened.

  5. GlooMi and Alex walked into the Café dripping wet. They had been caught in a gigantuous rainstorm just a block away from the café, and neither of them were very happy.

"Irin could I have some hot apple cider please," GlooMi said distantly, but truly her mind was from the storm, for it seemed odd that such a tempest would spring up from a clear blue sky. She felt very uneasy as she glanced out the window.

"I hope I'm wrong" she muttered.

  6. Irin smiled, happy that the two of them had returned and that she had not been caught useing magic. "Sure GlooMi!" She said. When she saw her worried face, Irin added, "On the house."

Alex sat down, and looked at his coffee cup. "Wasnt that...how...nevermind," he said.

Irin gave Gloomi her drink, then opened a can of coke for herself.

  7. Star Silently leaned against the doorway of the cafe washroom. He had missed the suprising incident but could tell something was wrong. He had heard the tortured scream and could sense a disturbance in the air. He remained there quietly for a few seconds before acknowledging himself. "Hey Alex!" He shouted, trying to hide his suspicion.

He sat down and ordered a hot chocolate. Secretly he kept his left arm relaxed at his side, where he concealed his blaster. "Trust noone" he thought, and knew it was true for the time.

  8. Alex looked up at the sound of his name. It was the man with the blaster. The Keeping told him he had another one, but he tried not to betray his fear that it would be pointed at him the next time it was used. Smileing, he said, "Hi Star."

  9. GlooMi was distrusting of the man with the gun in his hand. He did his best to hide it, but she still managed to see the shine of the metal.

She quietly sent a warning to Irin.

"You may be mopping up blood again, but I can assure you it wont be mine."

  10. Realizing how much he had scared Alex again, Star slid his hands away from his side and put them on the table. "Strange weather isn't it" Star replies to Alex.

He relaxed himself but mentally stayed fully alert. He would not have enough time to draw his weapon when he needed, but there's other ways to fight besides with his blaster, and he would be prepared.

  11. Irin nodded, knowing what GlooMi was trying to tell her. "Hmmm...I better get my my mop out, then." She went to the closed, and pushed a shelf over, revealing a hidden safe. She input the combination and the safe opened. There was an array of weapons there. Two swords, a bow and arrow, and a few small guns. Unsure of what she would be faceing soon, she took out one of her swords, Memory, and a gun, then quickly ran to stash it behind the counter.

Alex nodded to Star. "Yes, strange weather indeed." He noticed Irin and the other girl whispering, becoming tense.

  12. Star began to look nervous and in panic. He inched his way to door before darting out. Outside he stood next to the door, back to the wall and away from the windows. He pulled out a small strange device and quietly spoke a few words into it.

He walked back inside, dropping his gun loudly outside the doorway. "Relax, I don't have any other guns." He said, with a trace of nervousness in his voice. He sat down and waited for his drink.

  13. "Can I get you anything, Star?" Irin asked, suspicion coloring her voice. She didn't know what to make of him going outside and coming back in. She fingered her gun under the table.

  14. GlooMi looked at him calmly "What was that for?" she asked cooly. "only a fool would go without a weapon in such an environment. Unless of course..." she raised her eyebrows and gave him her most piercing look. Then she turned back to Irin and murmured, "Hes got something else up his sleeve, though I dont know if I'm being figurative or literal."

  15. "Sure, I'll have a hot chocolate." He still seemed nervous. "I really needed some fresh air." He was speaking the truth.

  16. I was about to post chapter 9 but it made me login

  17. So okay here goes try número 2

  18. "I don't think it matters..." Irin whispered. She took another sip of her coke and watched an empty table.

  19. GlooMi raised her eyebrows at the disembodied voice. "I wonder what chapter 2 is?"

  20. "Of course." she said. Irin took a mug and filled it with hot water, a bit of milk and a special blend of cocoa. She set it down on the table, then released it slowly and turned away.

Alex was quiet as he watched.
