Morals: Why do we have them?

Discussion in 'Off Topic' started by -IIXII-AJ-IIXII-, Nov 13, 2014.

  1. Why do I keep morals? I always assumed it was cause' I like eloping people. From little things like letting people go first that I'll meet see again, to being willing to step into a fight to defend a stranger even though I surely have no chance. I care what happens to me obviously, I've just always put over before myself. Probably why I'm pushing to be a cop

  2. God doesn't do things because you want them to happen, he does them because you need them to happen.

Every man is a sinner, it was brought into the world by women. So, no christian should ever use it as an insult. Because everyone has and will do it again. (Hate those that use it as one.)

Well, hopefully, on judgement day, I can walk with you to the gates.

But, we are going too far into the religious aspect.

  3. I assume you meant helping, not eloping. Those are good ideologies to have. Defend the those who are unable to defend and those who are innocent.

Interesting fact: the code of chivalry only speaks of respect to women in one of its passages. The rest are mainly battle etiquette.

  4.  I want to see all of Ashes post in a single thread. KaWmandments to live by.

  6. I need to know if a god is real if I am to believe.

If it comes to the gates and they are the same then I will gladly follow you through them, though others will obviously debate that I am going to Hell...

Yes we are, has been a good debate and much enjoyed. Your religion interests me, that I can say. If you are one who likes to help others see your god's light then that is as much as you can hope to accomplish with me.

    Good fight!
    In all sincerity and thanks,
    Rob, at your service.

  7. Yeah, autocorrect.
I don't care what gender. Even if they're in the wrong, I'd rather break up the fight and settle it without someone getting sent to hospital, y'know? Unless this person had nude red several young children by blender IMG them into a smoothie. Then I'd grab some popcorn.

  9. Apherium*

Thou shalt check thine grammar and spelling before they choose to post.

As an end to this topic for me : If anyone at all would like to debate on any topic then kindly wall me, I await thy debate!

  10. The morals and the ten comments are basically the same, more like the morals is a modern version of the comments.

  11. morals are what allow large groups of humans to live in a relatively small area.

  12. Actually it is spelt with an N. Apheriun.

  13. Except ladies? 

  14. It's funny because I follow almost all of those morals yet I'm still an asshole.

  15. Now THAT is an EXCELLENT way to live your life!!! :D

  16. Thread is about what r morals?
Well religion n morals in the same sentence is contradictory n history is rife with proof. Do we the ppl of all the world need bible thumpers of their choice of religion opining..hardly.

  17. Can morals not simply be knowing right from wrong decided by whats socially acceptable. Furthermore allowing freedom of thought n unencumbered by race religion colour or creed

  18. Morals are social construct used to discourage behavior that threatens the survival of the group and promote behavior that enhances it.

  19. Oh buddy, the buses don't go where you live do they?
    Outside, outside, outside...

  20. Haven't read all answers. But your Ten Commandments is wrong.
It is not "do not kill". It is specifically "thou shall not commit murder".
Even god made allowances for killing and the actions of soldiers acting under orders, their king took the blame in the eyes of god.
Post a proper reply later but simply it's so that society does not collapse into a depraved free for all which would benefit no one. People come together for a common purpose. Morals help the collective survive and prosper
