TheLady, four clans weren't allowed to kick at all though. So I also agree if that at four hour mark the admin wanted to kick then they shouldn't get a reward.

Look, Doom won a final with 185 heads. Those who deserve to be kicked been kicked before we finished, so that should answer a question more or less. Math is simple- 15 people been kicked for beein inactive, please remove their awards and split between 185 whom were fighting till the end. Lady is right- Wulf's strategy worked perfectly well.

Surely it is simple enough for the developers to view the action numbers for any participant during the time of the war. Any outgoing action should be logged as well as all incoming actions.

Weigh these two figures against each other and find a meridian to work from. Make that your benchmark for handing out the normal prizes. Anyone far on the positive side can be increased against those that are reduced.

A player hitting quests and scouts for the duration of the war may end up with zero plunder but leaked nothing. I think any of the 8 clans would take the occasional player like this compared to some that took part.

Doom was lucky to be able to kick. Apocalypse had no such ability during both wars we participated in

Agreed! Wulf came up with a great strat allowing us to stay pinned and win championship! I myself came through with 178 successful actions, 0 hits from opposing team but low plunder because I was plugging leaks. For 8 hours I stay pinned and tried to get through as best I could. Of course I had plenty of fails on attack and that is not taken into account (which should).

The second semi-final I came through with #31 in plunder roster and high successful actions. I had 3 hits from opposing team.

The first round I came through with 160 successful actions and had close to 1.5 bill in plunder. I took 9 hits from opposing team while trying to stay under 20%.

To say the least I fought through for several rounds because I wanted my team I win!!

I just think its rather unfair to have several of Doom players be jipped of their rewards and handed off to others after working so hard as a team. I gave up being a husband and putting my friends off to stay pinned and work as a team. As noted earlier several people were kicked from the start of the war their rewards should be disrupted to the team!

    Doom 2012 champs!!!!!

  6. Re: 2012 All Star War - Results

My main concern is I wasn't very active due to real life reasons and I tried as best I could to stay pinned.

I was active for our semi-final until I lost connection for the last hour of that war. Hopefully I'm not disqualified by whatever guidelines devs determine.

 Alfa Omega, man, three more days and i would face a divorce here huaha, totaly agree. My results not so good, but i stayed 'on' from we started until we finished.

  8. Re: 2012 All Star War - Results

Activity shouldnt be organized by the amount of gold someone made, it should be determined by how active a player was. Personally i made very little gold, but I was active the majority of both of the wars and helped a little to set up a universal system to help increase our war efficiency.
Just my feedback. Not sure if you guys can do that though.

  9. Re: 2012 All Star War - Results

Good job devs Making sure the moochers that took other people's spots, and stayed inactive throughout the wars, and were in it just for the achievement, and rewards alone won't be getting them

  11. I think the pulling and redistribution of awards is a good idea. I would strongly recommend using that very sparingly though. In the cases where folks truly did not log on or attend, then they should not receive the benefits. If it is not that obvious though, you invite some very hurt feelings by making a determination of what is a "reasonable" contribution.

There were folks in Doom that were there for some amount of time and had to leave, gave warning of it, and came back hours later. With Wulf's plan for our self pinning rotation, that was fine and it was accepted (although not all were happy that folks left for hours). Those players obviously should not lose their award. As much as we all love KaW, real life does happen sometimes.

Obviously the other main concern are the people whose build or size dictated that they spend a much larger portion of their time helping with pinning leaks. As long as the folks at KaW can see those actions of plugging leaks and give them the according weight, then I think this idea should work just fine. The folks in Doom who spent so much time and effort with the thankless task of plugging leaks should get a bigger reward, not less. They were absolutely instrumental in our success.

PS. GO DOOM!! Ty to KaW and my fellow clan mates as they were all awesome and props to all we fought. It was a ton of fun and other than the offline mooches, everyone fought quite well.

Great job devs I'm sure every clan had their share of inactives. Also I'm excited to see the new way you will have people register for the next asw. Lets just hope I meet the requirements lol.

This was my first ASW and I understand the points being made. It is good to see these taken seriously by the devs. One thing I hope is that selection changes for 2013 do not penalise those players who punch above their weight. My rank was 6000 yet I managed to claim plunder rank #15 in final for Team War. Make past ASW participation and performance part of the selection criteria.

What is the point of apologizing when you had done so many ASW and SW and still got it wrong..

  16. Re: 2012 All Star War - Results

Thank you devs for trying to fix ASW issues. 

  17. Re: 2012 All Star War - Results

Shouldn't you ask ppl why they werent active before punishing and taking away bonuses. For all you know they may have had every intention of becoming active in the wars but it is a possibility that more pressing and important matters came up in real life. That is drastically unfair on people. Also some people may have had 0 actions in the war but may have been active just unable to get successful actions or find someone that isnt constantly DTW. The people that get punished should be the people that cheat!!!!!

  18. Re: 2012 All Star War - Results

So instead of first come first serve it's, strongest people to sign up get in????

  19. Re: 2012 All Star War - Results

I'm speaking as a member from the Conquest team and a second year ASW participant:

Question in regards to admins: we technically had no admins in the first round since our admins' privileges were taken away due to problems in the other clans. Also, our Admins were active in the war but not all of them were on in cc enough for me to clearly say if they could "vouch" for activity levels or not. So how can we be certain you get the correct names of inactives? And there were so many in Conquest who stepped up and helped pin our inactives and sweep them regularly, often having to waste troops on quests at the last minute to keep themselves in pin while they performed this mind numbing task. I want to ensure every single one of those people get their just rewards. These actions would not be reflected in overall actions and plunder but were almost more vital to our success than somebody just plundering away silently.

I also agree that mods should NOT all be in one clan. If it was a randomly generated occurrence, it should have been something you rectified prior to the teams being announced. Even if the teams were not stacked, it definitely gave the impression that they were hand picked in some way. Mods are players and should be given the opportunity to sign up and war just like any other player. However, because of their unique positions in the community, they should be spread across the clans evenly.

In addition, giving the teams a little more time in cc together prior to the start of the war and allowing THEM to tell a mod assigned to their clan who they nominate as admins would work the best so they end up being people the clan agree upon. Just one idea...

I am glad you are addressing the sign up issue. Information was not posted enough in advance for all timezones to clearly access the information. And the overall first come, first serve method only serves the people on at the allotted time, not reflect those truly deserving to be in the war. In general, the timing and way information was posted this year made it seem rushed and flawed from the start. Im hopeful a better timeline for providing news and important information about the war in advance will be part of the planned changes.

As for during the war itself, the revocation of the admin privileges should never have happened. While I understand the concern for what was happening in the other clans, it hampered the teams on many levels. It was a knee-jerk reaction that had significant implications on the outcomes of the wars, as I believe you realize now.

Finally, I agree with the ideas of some sort of player war ranking: if a player has never warred he/she SHOULD NOT be in this select group of players!! While we made sure to treat all our players equally in our clan, people not knowing how to self pin, pin another player, or post their stats in an ASW made our job even more Herculean with such little time to coordinate and strategize. We were lucky that ours seemed to be quick learners (other than our ones who ended up leaking and our #40 ranked apparently noob spy).

If you believe your LB ranking system provides the clearest lens for who is the best in kaw, perhaps you start by offering it to the top 800 players and work your way down the list after that until you have all slots filled. However, a player ranking for individual war experience would be a much better reflection.

I think that's enough for one post! :)
