GTA games are rated +17 in USA and +18 in the rest of the world. A kid is not allowed to play such game. Is parent duty to keep their kidds away of such games. And if a parent fail to supervise his kid and the kid's behaviour is influenced by GTA, the only responsabile one is his parent.
I refused to buy many games like GTA for my kids....it did not matter to me how pissed off they were. I was the adult who made that choice. I would be a hipocrite if I said I did not buy 18+ games for them. I did allow games like C of D. I justified by thinking my children could handle that type of gaming platforms because of the teachings I set in my household as a combat veteran. I am the type of parent who monitored the music they played, the movies they watched and who they interacted with. My kids in no way are perfect as I know they still lie, cheat, and sneak behind my back. I also firmly believe that at least I participated in their life and made them aware of right from wrong....I feel mostly first for the family of the slain girl and secondly for the parents and family of the two very young ladies who committed this heanous crime. I am in no way blaming the parents as they may have been just as involved as I was but just fell into this horrible place. I would never wish this on anyone, but unfortunately our society we live in across the globe has this to deal with....Moose asked what my thought was....I feel that the 2 young ladies should be held accountable by the law and to its fullest. If they are found mentally competant, then they should be tried as adults. As for the person who stated that the 2 should attend the funeral.....oh my word....that would be horrible for the living relatives and friends of the slain. Who on earth would wish that to prove a point to 2 lost souls???
I think you will see the lack of empathy remorse and antisocial pattern clearly contribute to the girls psychopathy. And the term is correctly used. Mental illness, yes, just because you do not have the same level of symptoms as the girls does not make the term incorrect. The debate is whether it is actually a mental illness or just a lack of ability to comprehend basic emotions. And that can be easily be contributed to by environmental factors, hence why there is so much debate globally on what is acceptable / normal behaviour.
You merely posted a more advanced example of what I stated before hand. A pyschopath and an active pyschopath are quite different. I have always put faith in the three factors theory, Genetics, Upbringing, Traumas. A mixture of these three negatively is the perfect storm for a serial killer.
We execute terrorists. These teens are no different. Why are we feeding them? Swift justice is a constitutional right. String em up
An active pyschopath at their age is extremely rare. They did show a lack of empathy and remorse, however this does not make them a pyschopath by default.
Also want to add that my now 19 year old who attends a very well respected military college understands right from wrong....but at 11 he told his teacher about how we beat him.....as the child service agency investigated, they discovered that with this story as it concluded in his interview, Batman would swoop in from the 4th floor of our house and save him. Pick him up and they would both fly to the beach to visit mickey mouse. Clearly at 11 or 12 they understood fiction but could not decipher between fully real and not fully real. Is it possible that these 2 young girls or even possibly all 3 had that same interaction and still may not understand fully what was done?
Facepalm raj. Psychopaths kill, fact of life. Normal functional adults resist that urge daily. And as for active or not. All it takes is a trigger. The girls found theirs in a book. It's a prime example of postmans post on what is appropriate for a parent to let their child see. However that said and whilst I accept fully that games and books act as a trigger for some people, they are not the only triggers. Wrong look, wrong day the trigger can be anything. It is recognising the symptoms of those who cannot function with empathy or remorse and either treating or separating them from shall we say hazardous environments. With an ever growing population and stimulus the threat is ever growing and new ways to deal with it will be needed. And that does in my mind mean treating those affected and their are advances allegedly coming soon in that area. But that's not my area of expertise so I won't speculation that.
These things will happen in life, cause children are gonna be opened to exposure no matter how hard you control, and trying to control it too much, and your going to regret it big time
Lol at night wing. I am not debating your whole statement above. Just the line that says adults battle that decision everyday....not true...not true....I only had those urges with my ex wife many years ago. Hahahahaha. All other humans are safe. And I am a postal worker in real life but I never think about killing daily
Sad part is you guys don't know what children can be capable of and your just blaming it on the parents, thinking that a 12 shouldn't be capable of such a thing, ever watch killer kids they have kids younger then those 12 year olds killing a little 2 year old and y'all wanna put the whole blame on the parents smh
I never said to blame the parents. I said hold the 2 girls accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
Well. I originally was a firm believer in throwing them in jail for 30 years until I read one single sentence. They ARE kids and putting a 12 year old into prison until they are 42 is in no way benefitting the society or them. Personally I would put them in jail until 18, have their records unsealed, and require them to attend a mental hospital and/or rehab courses twice a week until 2-3 years after they get released from jail. Then they could drop it to bi weekly until they are 100% sure they are healthy. Also, I support the court order forcing them to attend the funeral. Along with this, require them to pay for any and all funeral services after they are released from jail. This way, they are forced to be healthy or get healthy quick to attain a job and pay or risk getting thrown back in court.
Yoloking, let me ask you something. Three little girls are going ALONE in the forest. Suddenly they are attacked and killed by a grizzly. Their parents are not responsable at all? Is like "we didn't knew they are going in the woods. Our daughters are dead now...but is cool. We can make other daughters anytime."
Vlad I would say it isn't the parents fault. You can't hover over a kid 24/7. If you do they will be more prone to these actions.
I'm talking about the murder of the little girl bruh, not some grizzly bear attacking three children, that example is irrelevant to this topic
Wow, I gotta chime in on this vlad......12 year old kids going into the woods is normal behavior that I encourage. If I know the kids, I wanted my kids to explore and use their minds for adventure and fun. I would hope that the parents of all the girls involved knew each of the girls. This is in no way a reflection on the parents if they were involved in their kids life... I am approaching this as a very active in my childrens lives parent role, not an unplugged do what you want or whatever parent).
A "monster" is made a monster by the environment. Control the kid environment and won't turn into a monster.
