My favourite quote is "someone up there might think your specail, but the rest of us down here thin your a plonker"lol
I honestly don't want this getting lost. This wax the very first poems thread, and it has some history to it
Dug up a bunch of poetry while cleaning out my hard drive. Decided to revive this thread with it. Here's a free verse poem I wrote last year If you live in a place where there is always light The coming of night has never felt right You bask in the evening sun But when darkness comes you start to run But run to where? The darkness will come Sounds that you cannot bear They will never be gone As the sun sets speedily behind you Shadows begin to lengthen A lone wolf cries out to its brethren You start to wonder what will happen to you As the all consuming darkness approaches You know that all is lost Every step seems to take ages You tumble to a bed of dead moss You cannot see Threatening shadows riding the breeze Like the claws of death They take your breath Like a knife through hot butter You remember a time of light When everything seemed so right You cough, you sputter Then are no more… And this is a haiku that went with it. No longer quiet Blackness hides all Darker sounds I hear
Here's my newest one. I'll Love You Forever Don't ever forget, what you said to me, On the day we first kissed, by the trunk of our tree, You said that you'd love me, year after year, You said that you loved me, and that was my fear. Commitment had scared me, mistakes of my past. But you said our love was one that would last. And I loved you so deeply, I had to believe, So I helped make our goal, one we could achieve. We married four years, right after that day. "I'll love you forever," is what you still say. And year after year, that promise you keep, From when we awake, to when we both sleep. But time had to pass, we were over the hill, "I'll love you for always," is what you say, still. You smiled your smile, and my eyes had shone, And for so many years, I was never alone. Then one rainy day, in a hospital bed, "You know I still love you," is what you had said. "I'll meet you in heaven, and thanks for the ride. I'll love you forever. I'll be at your side."
The sun will set and rise, A performance for your eyes. But in the darkest of hours, The moon, our friend never cowers. But if the moon shall fail to glow, Small lights called stars will show. The moon and the sun are friends. And will be till the very end. It's not the best poem I just wrote it along the way.
Betrayal can come from nowhere, Like a stab in the back, You thought you were going somewhere, But your "friends" had other plans, From friend to foe, They leave you to your woes, Betrayal can leave you, without friends, without purpose, And like a stab in the back, They leave you. Seth
Nice poem. Here's another one. Time passes everyday, And it can show on everyones face. As your energy begins to go all you can say, Life goes by fast, go at your own pace.
Some deep sad poems 56 pages actuly .... Well it's not a poem but I think I'll like it it's my favorite saying Light travels faster than sound that is why some people seem bright untill they open there mouth
Great poems everyone! Here's a fun little haiku. Haikus are easy, Sometimes they don't make much sense, Refrigerator.
