Then explain why two bombs were dropped on two different days if Japan was trying to surrender before? The whole reason for the bombs was to save millions of lives from a land invasion. If they were trying to negotiate a surrender why would we need to invade them and/or drop bombs on them? Your point makes no sense with facts to back it up
Everyone stop being so obtuse history is never all that black and white ...yes Japan was negotiating for peace but they wanted terms that were unacceptable to the Allies. The allies were trying to avoid a situation similar to after WW1, they didn't want to allow Japan the ability to remilitarize like Germany did. Allies wanted unconditional surrender. The Japanese pretty much wanted terms that would'nt make them appear as they were dishonorable-vanquished. They basically wanted mutual CF (lol) Even after the bombs were dropped many hardcore Japanese military still didn't want to surrender unconditionally. The Japanese nuclear bomb victims have their own inept government at the time to blame.
