The jon davis quote is spot on....alot of that would happen. We do keep trade lanes open. Our military does protect alot of countries who are key to world economy. Nothing he said there is false. U can look almost anywhere online. But it has nothing to do exclusive to the U.S. Almost any western country given our military power would work towards the same things, actually they all do support us in these things already.
I don't want this to get locked because it's generating discussion. But the OP is so obviously troll bait and needs to be reworded. You're basically saying "Americans think they're badass and here's why I'm right..."
If you're from another country, you need to present this thread as your personal observation of some Americans. You also need to be more clear that you're presenting your personal opinion, and not present it as fact. I'm not a psychologist, but I've never heard of "hero complex" as being an actual diagnosis. If it is, then you'd do well to include links to credible psychology websites that support your observations or diagnoses. You can have just as good of a discussion about this issue without tossing an entire country of people into a bucket and throwing a label on us all. Talk about the "hero complex" and maybe ask the community if we think Americans tend to have it at a higher rate than other countries. That would be a fun debate.

All legit news...So ya the world does expect us to get involved in many situations but its not just us. Our western allies almost always go with us including Australia .... Yes we have been taught American Exceptionalism since grade school. Certain states have banned high school AP history courses for not having an American bias and going deeper into the situations. World War 2 for example. Most of us Americans have been taught and actually believe we single handedly won the war. It's a pity. We wonder why so many of our citizens are blind nationalists. Take a look at the curriculum especially for history courses. Then these people get to college and claim "ALL COLLEGES ARE AMERICAN HATING LIBERAL COLLEGES" because the half truths they've been spoon fed are often times exposed as what they are.

"Allied Forces" yes Not "America saves the day" like I hear so much of. And they leave out American businesses who lobbied against us entering the war against Germany because they did business with the fuhrer (his name is still filtered) like Prescott Bush. Doesn't matter where I went to school. You learn a lot more about American history when you turn off American News Stations and close American text books.
To be fair, those college textbooks you're referring to are also American. I'd argue that most of what the world knows about America has come from American news, textbooks and academic studies.
