If the son is gay the blood line ends rather he can marry or not. Unless he donates his sperm. Just saying. Use your brain for once.
A very interesting topic... Personally, I believe romantic love can be felt between a whole host of individuals regardless of anything; gender and ethnicity to name 2 categories. Marriage is (in its bare bones) the declaration of love between two individuals. Therefore, it is only right that two individuals of the same gender should be allowed to partake in this old tradition. Now, the faith arguments are valid. For example, it may not be appropriate for there to be a wedding between those of the same gender. A wedding is a Christian marriage ceremony, and the Christian beliefs of that marriage can only occur with opposite genders should be respected. As you should respect any faith the people believe. So... TLR... Marriage should be available for those of the same gender. It is a union and declaration of love and should be respected by everyone that the couple wish to declare it.
Separation of Church and State for the USA and most 1st world countries around the world follow a separation between church and government. Also, divorce is a major sin in Most Abrahamic religions and Divorce is allowed. So why go, oh, It's okay to commit a MAJOR sin and get a divorce because it suits my life style. But oh hell no! It is absolutely outrageous to commit a MINOR sin that is not even reference in the bible and let same gender marriage. And if all sins are the same then divorce, same sex marriage, eating bacon, and wearing clothes with nylon are the same. So if you got a divorce Had premarital nookie Eat bacon Wear cloths Go nekad Work on Sunday's Eat fish But condemn same gender marriage then you are a hypocrite. Guess what you will be fishing in hell with everything else you are told to hate. Also, if you watch lesbian videos that make you happy, then you are still a hypocrite. Just saying.
Sin = Sin No sin weighs more than another. I do believe state and church needs to be separate. But, I think we need to keep some of the moral aspects of it.
Some moral aspect? The bible lets slavery to occur But doesn't allow bacon It states women as 2nd class citizens And condemns divorce I'm not Christian. Why should I follow any part of your book? I don't need a bible to tell me what is right and what is wrong.
I do believe you need to read the Old Testament and learn Christianity. And also read that tid-bit that Jesus did not null-void the rules of the Old Testament but only made forgiveness easier.
You're allowing the old views of the bible affect your view of the newer view. Allow me to explain it for you. Do note that the bible was written by man whom was influenced by God. Remember than man is not perfect. Meaning some aspects can be wrong IF you apply it to the time period in which it was written. IE Hundreds of years ago compared to now? The bible looks terrible. The bible doesn't allow slavery to occur. It happened because of the failed interpretation. Back in that time period, pork was bad to eat because it was unclean. Now, with the way we are with cleanliness, we can eat pork because it is clean. That's up for debate really. Man is said to be the head of the household and the protector of women. But, when a man is not around to do so, whom is to do it? Herself. I believe every female can take care of herself and I know the bible knows that. Divorce is a sin. All sins weigh the same. Yes, you're supposed to be together for the rest of your lives, but, we aren't perfect. But again. The bible is open to interpretation and this is my interpretation. You cannot allow the basic view to get in the way of the personal view. That's where the fault comes in at. Anyone can read the bible and have a different opinion on things. That's why Christianity has many denominations. But those who aren't Christians like to point out the immoral words.
I think the states should decide for themselves. I don't have anything against homosexuals as long as they mind they're own business. They do what they do, I do what I do, literally. Why is it hurting me if two guys named Neil and Bob want to get married? It isn't. But back to my point. People in State A might not want the bigwigs in Washington to decide that kind of thing. It shouldn't be up to the federal government, it should be up to the states. That's just my opinion. PS, what does MGTB stand for? I've seen some of those threads and I don't understand that acronym.
I don't why it shouldn't be passed. If I as a straight man can't choose whoever I want to marry, then a gay man or woman should be able to as well. Of course there's the issue of church marriages, and well out of respect for the religion, then they can do however they please. But give gays the right to civil marriage
America is a country with freedom of religion. Why should those who aren't Christian have to suffer in a country with that freedom? Regardless of the values of our constitution. If anything, America contradicts itself (yet again :roll.
