1. So it would be the united kingdom of Britain. Northern Ireland 1.5m population and it costs England more money to run than it's worth. Population of UK over 60m. Northern Ireland is handicap to the UK and t he least important member of the uk
I never claimed they were more important, and it would just be Great Britain, no United Kingdom part. But you and I both know UK will never let NI go because a civil war would erupt in Ireland again like during the troubles that makes Afghanistan look like a playground.
Eventually there will be a referendum on uniting Ireland as the Scottish had. Now at present it would fail but who knows in the future. And if it is passed there's nothing England or those who don't like in NI can do about it as it's the democratic process which is in place within the UK

2. Actually, was just provided conclusive evidence OP is who he says he is. I formally apologize.
Thank you for serving.

3. Lol they were the biggest slave traders going

Sure in 50 years it a referendum might work. And nothing democratically could be done, but as I said the paramilitaries would rearm and war would break out for years and ireland wouldn't be able to control the region. At which point who knows what would happen.

5. They were at one point, but they also helped end it and abolish it throughout the world.

6.
7. The paramilitaries can rearm all they want but the fact would remain they are ruled from Dublin not London and nothing can change that . London would accept it if the referendum passed . It's law. Who knows maybe in 50 years there will be less bigots and paramilitaries on each side so it mightnt be as big of a deal

10.
11. No you weren't.

12. Actually armed force can change many things, maybe it would work and maybe it wouldn't. But the point remains I doubt NI is leaving the UK, at least not in my lifetime.

13. It wouldn't be an army v army it would be terrorist groups like the uda uvf. The fact would remain you're ruled from Dublin and Britain's only across the Irish sea anyway

14. I'm well it wouldn't be army vs army, it would be vicious dedicated terrorists against a tiny army with little experience.

15. And with one terrorist attack you've infuriated 5 million people on a island with 6 million inhabitants. I don't like your odds

16. My odds? I never said I supported these people, im telling you exactly what would happen. Like it or not bombing campaigns would take place for decades, by both Nationalist and Loyalist groups and Ireland couldn't control it. leading to a deal being made to most likely make NI completely independent from any country or rejoining the UK. And as I said this will never happen in our lifetime anyway.

17. I disagree . Large parts of NI are more irish identifying that British so they'd never be a part of a new northern Ireland. The irish wouldn't cave in to that. I agree there would be fighting but they'd still be ruled from Dublin. Like I said they could go over to Britain if they still wanted to remain in the UK. Anyway probably won't happen in your life time as u said

18. Not sure where this thread is going but as a proud United States Navy veteran I fully support the idea this thread started out with. No mater what country we are talking about let's not forget THE TROOPS DO THEIR JOB SO THOSE WHO DONT CAN HAVE THE FREEDOM TO WHINE ABOUT IT. That said full support to all our troops

20. And the point of quoting me with no reply?
