Is there a loss in plunder from a castle upgrade due to tower like stats?

If so, is it significant?

No i do not think so i think it stays the same or adds a little bit

Does castle give troops? If not, it should act like a tower and decrease plunder.

It doesn't give any troops or spies but I don't think it does decrease plunder at all.
