What is your opinion on Tuesdays election results?

  1. This is the problem. Black-Dragon hasn't been being biased. He's been speaking and citing actual facts as reference with actual factual numbers to back himself up and all you've done is say "well I don't like that I interpretation." You can debate interpretation but he's show time and again how your sides "facts" are misrepresented in reality.

For the record I'm a moderate. I just find the Republicans politicking of fear and trickle down economics which we know have never worked as they say it should to be way off course for what we need though currently. Only over the past 10 years or so has it gotten like such but I can honestly say when I hear half of their representatives speak it actually scares me because I see fanatacism in tons of it. People want to see the world become a scary place let our politics keep going down this path.

    That's just my opinion.

  2. "Oil prices are going down but only because the private sector (which creates jobs) refuses to stop their oil production."

Yes and no. Prices are also going down because demand is going down. China's economy is slowing and Europe is sliding back into recession. It's supply and demand. And no ever asked the private sector to stop production. Here's the thing. Oil prices are market based. Increased production here doesn't mean prices go down here. If demand increases overseas, that oil gets sold there. It doesn't stay here to drop our prices. That's why we've been exporting oil for the last few years and prices still stayed high. By the way I find it amusing that whenever prices go up, it's Obama's fault, but when prices go down, it's the private sector. If you're going to blame him for one, then he needs to get credit for the other.

"Everyone in America is tired of the rushed policies through congress and or the behind the back executive orders that aren't really helping USA move forward."

I agree. I think bills shouldn't be allowed to have riders. A bill for roads should deal with roads and not have some provision for some sugar company in them. I also think they should have the names of who is asking for what in them. Good luck with that. Both parties do it and neither one of them want to change it. In fact, the GOP plans to use it to try and repeal ObamaCare by adding riders into bills for everything.

Executive orders? It's in the Constitution and the fact is Obama has signed less than most Presidents. And I'm pretty sure the one about "the govt can storm your house and take supplies if needed" are ones signed in case of emergencies like a nuclear war. If you know the order number, I can look it up.

"Fact is the republicans create jobs"

    They do. Democrats create more.

"Since 1961, for 52 years now, the Republicans have held the White House 28 years, the Democrats 24. In those 52 years, our private economy has produced 66 million private-sector jobs. So what's the jobs score? Republicans 24 million, Democrats 42 million" - Bill Clinton

    Politifact rated that statement true

" You can't bring in the fact that during Obama the unemployment claims rate has lowered, it's a lie."

No, it's not. The claims rate is rated the same way it's always been rated. What you're going on about is probably the US labor participation rate, a little gimmick Republicans try to use to reinforce their lie that everything is still bad. Here's the thing. A big reason why the labor participation rate is down is because Americans are getting older. The CBO says that roughly half of the three-percentage-point decline in labor-force participation since the end of 2007 is due to the aging of the workforce.
    http://www.cbo.gov/sites/default/files/ ... Review.pdf

Lastly, here's what amuses me the most about conservatives. They love to claim that everything bad that's happened since 2009 is Obama and the Democrats fault because, hey, they're in charge. But the minute you point out that Bush and the GOP were in charge during the biggest economic meltdown since the great depression, they start whining about how you can't blame Bush. Bush gets blamed because he deserves the blame. It's that simple.

While I'm at it, the GOP has done zip over the last 6 years to make things better. They not only created this mess, they've deliberately pursued polices to make things worse. You guys want to talk about treason? That's treason. Millions of Americans, including your family, have suffered longer than they've had to simply so the GOP could position themselves to win elections by keeping the economy bad. Furthermore, the GOP has taken damn near every event that's occurred since Obama has been in office and hyped it way out of proportion, trying to spread fear, distrust, and discontent among Americans in order to make themselves look better. OMG terrorists with Ebola! OMG child terrorists are at the border! OMG Putin is coming for us! OMG the deficit! OMG death panels! OMG FEMA camps! That's a fact. And yet they have the nerve to call themselves "true" Americans and "Patriots". My ass.

There's very little patriotic about them and it'll be a long time before I ever vote for them again.

  3. I am not American but, this is no good for my country.

  4. Moose, I have a past history working in that "fun house" called politics and public policy (micro and maro level). The short answer to your questions...it's all cyclical. It's nothing more than power hungry individuals playing a game. Of course that "game" is affecting our (US) lives and we, in turn, have our say when we have enough (i.e. voting).

  5. "US adults are dumber than the average human

October 8, 2013 WASHINGTON — It’s long been known that America’s school kids haven’t measured well compared with international peers. Now, there’s a new twist: Adults don’t either.

In math, reading and problem-solving using technology – all skills considered critical for global competitiveness and economic strength – American adults scored below the international average on a global test, according to results released Tuesday.

The study, called the Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies, found that it was easier on average to overcome this and other barriers to literacy overseas than in the United States.

Researchers tested about 166,000 people ages 16 to 65 in more than 20 countries and subnational regions. The test was developed and released by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which is made up of mostly industrialized member countries. The Education Department’s Center for Education Statistics participated."

"Americans put to shame by immigrants on sample civics test

4/27/2012 WASHINGTON – Immigrants applying for U.S. citizenship have to pass a 10-question civics test asking basic questions about American history and government, and about 93% succeed. But only 65% of native-born Americans could get the required six out of 10 right answers when asked the same questions in a telephone poll.

    That's what is happening.

  6. I've reviewed your school statistics and find them to be alarming!

  7. Orman/Roberts was big in my state. Roberts, the older experienced Senator has been rumored to be missing a lot of meetings according to Ormans camp. Orman is rumored to be in Dems pocket.
Roberts pulled it off in the end, if Ormans camp is correct I hope Roberts took it as a wake up call and gets his old ass out of bed.
We will see what happens in the Senate but it doesn't look good for Hillary and Obama lovers.

  8. wolf in PA is a well known businessman, and drove home in ads wll tax tge shale oil drillers as they are not now as most other states do.

I think the message was clear everyone is tired of nothing getting done. But more so think it was lashing out at Oboma. Would not want to run as democrat president cantidate next

  9. Well, I have a feeling compromises will be made. Congress will want to end the ObamaCare disaster, but I think that ObamaCare is Obama's child. Obama is not going to budge on ObamaCare, so he will likely compromise on tax reform or immigration. Expect to see changes in those areas.

  10. on tge education oboma had it right, invest in education of americans and let the non teck jobs go overseas. He got lambasted for it though, too many americans are too dumb to see the forest with all the trees in the way

  11. I could also argue that you’re also a miss informed voter let us take a look at some of your arguments shall we?

Yes your right more jobs have been created in America under Obama… well at least more part time jobs not full time job according to the advisor perspectives as of late 2008 until now their has been a decline in full time jobs and increase in part time job. Take a look for yourself, how’s that any better?

How does a tax cut for the wealthy help well according to your president “These folks are the less likely to spend the money.” The reality is our savings are the funds for a growing economy we invest in stocks/bonds and other securities that allows many businesses to access the capital they need to grow. Many firms use these funds to start and expand businesses and to buy machinery and other physical capital and the start of new and expanding businesses mean what exactly?? That’s right more jobs.

A stagnate middle class you say? Hmm I wonder why a lot of poor democratic voters vote democrat and become more poor as rich democrats are becoming richer. Sure now the poor receive a lot of aid like food stamps, medical… ect but at the expense of the middle class and who help the middle class?

We obviously live in a country were we are lied to, your president while pretending to care for Americans being behead was giving a speech about ISIS while playing gulf how cute, the Obama administration has also been lying about economic and job growth there is none were is your proof? 93 million Americans are still jobless.

And are you going to tell that “if you like your health care plan, you can keep it” wasnt a lie?? Were those not the words of your president? Furthermore every time the GOP tried to negotiate Obama would tell them to shove it. Now that the GOP are in control Mr Obama instead of trying to compromise is threating to use his powers against them.

Liberal like you make me sick you all are just as guilty for thrashing this country and then running to hide after the country turns against and you stay hidden until it is safe to come and what happens next? The cycle repeats itself.

  12. lets not forget the wave of illegel that were flooding the boarder thanks to your president who is trying to legalize them in order to create a voting block by them whenever they are of age to vote. I myself am a hispanic born in the USA my parents were illegeal and now became US citizens as of 2012. I am all for Illegals comming to better themselfs as long as they do it the right way.

  13. I'm neither Democrat or Republican, but, Dragon is giving a better case. 

  14. This is a issue that needs addressed. It's needs done in a way that's fair for Americans. The ones born here, and the ones who obtained citizenship through immigration.

The largest part of legal immigrants I have spoken with. Mostly Hispanic and Latino, but Asians as well do have issues with illegal immigration. They see it as illegal and something that shouldn't be rewarded.

The few hundred I have spoken with don't make a consensus, but from what I have heard this sentiment has been echoed throughout our communities.

I for one am not a person who looks down on migrants and people trying to find a better life, a better place to be. A future. At the same time you have to back the people. They are the people.

Growing the population for business needs, or for ideological purposes to gain political superiority goes against the people. The spin of this issue is transparent from all sides political spectrum.

From the capitalist in the US to the Marxist in Mexico. To the college aged leftist with no real world experience to draw from other then professors who indoctrinate rather than educate. To the right wing adults concerned for the future of their children's place in society.

This issue is getting ready to be back in the lime light.

Understanding and maturity will go a long way for us all. From us all. For us all.

  15. I'm just glad I can keep my guns safe for the next few years.

  16. You can try, and lets.

"Yes your right more jobs have been created in America under Obama… well at least more part time jobs not full time job according to the advisor perspectives as of late 2008 until now their has been a decline in full time jobs and increase in part time job. Take a look for yourself, how’s that any better?"

Part time jobs always go up in recessions. It's not a new trend, nor is it due to Obama. Here's a study from the Federal Reserve that looks at data going back the 70's and says "recent movements and current levels of part-time work are largely within historical norms"
    http://www.frbsf.org/economic-research/ ... recession/

"The reality is our savings are the funds for a growing economy we invest in stocks/bonds and other securities that allows many businesses to access the capital they need to grow. We're not suffering from a lack of capital for investment. There's plenty of capital. Hell, there's mountains of it.

Why Are U.S. Corporations Still Hoarding $1.5 Trillion in Cash?
    http://www.dailyfinance.com/on/corporat ... n-profits/

Our problem is a lack of demand for goods and services because most people don't have spare cash to spend. The top 1% own more than 50% of all assets in the U.S. They own more than 70% of all financial assets. Meanwhile, the bottom 50% of wealth holders own a mere 3.5% of all the assets in the country. The bottom 40% own nothing (it's actually 0.3% but hey, it might as well be nothing)

You economic illiterates simply don't understand that giving rich people more money via tax cuts isn't going to solve the problem. They already have plenty of money to buy pretty much whatever they want or invest.

That's why it's called "being rich".

"We obviously live in a country were we are lied to, your president while pretending to care for Americans being behead was giving a speech about ISIS while playing gulf how cute, the Obama administration has also been lying about economic and job growth there is none were is your proof? 93 million Americans are still jobless."

Here's a newsflash. We've always been lied to. Pay attention. And spare me your moral indignation about Americans being beheaded. You clowns love to play that "concerned about Americans" patriotism card, yet we never hear a peep out of out you about all the Americans who came back from Iraq in body bags or maimed for life because the idiots in your party simply had to invade an oil rich country that had zip to do with 9/11. If you want to play that game with me I will embarrass you.

"And are you going to tell that “if you like your health care plan, you can keep it” wasnt a lie?? Were those not the words of your president? Furthermore every time the GOP tried to negotiate Obama would tell them to shove it. Now that the GOP are in control Mr Obama instead of trying to compromise is threating to use his powers against them."

I'm sure he knew it wasn't entirely true, so yeah, I'll say it was a lie. Would you like to talk about all the death panel BS I heard from your side? Or the "if you don't sign up you can go to prison" crap? Again, if you want to play the self righteous "we never lie" game with me I will embarrass you.

While I'm at it, allow me to destroy your fantasies about cooperation. The GOP was the one who said their mission was to make Obama a one term President. let's start at the beginning. The GOP was against the stimulus. Obama made about a third it tax cuts to make them happy. They voted against it anyway. ObamaCare? He gave up the public option for them. They voted against it anyway. The so called "Grand Bargain"? Boehner made the deal then was embarrassed because he couldn't keep it. Hell, McConnell even made history when he became the first person to filibusterer his own bill to increase the debt ceiling because Reid called his bluff and put it up for vote. I can list more, but let's deal with the last part

"Now that the GOP are in control Mr Obama instead of trying to compromise is threating to use his powers against them."

When the Democrats were in control you acted like petulant children and blocked everything. Now that you have some power you want compromise? Seriously? How clueless are you guys? It's even funnier because Boehner and McConnell just publicly said they're going to try and repeal ObamaCare. Not fix it. Repeal it. They used to say "repeal and replace" but they never mention replace any more because the fact is, they have nothing to replace it with and never did. So why the hell should Obama comprise with them? Me, I like what Obama's said. If there's something they can work on together like tax reform and trade he'll do it, but there are things that are off the table and he's not going to compromise on them. Good for him.

"Liberal like you make me sick you all are just as guilty for thrashing this country and then running to hide after the country turns against and you stay hidden until it is safe to come and what happens next? The cycle repeats itself."

Whatever. Idiots like you annoy me. You have no clue about most things. You simply come here and spout crap you hear on Fox News. You try to wrap yourselves up in the flag and pretend that you're the only "true" Americans and the rest of us aren't. Hence the "Take OUR country back" and "YOUR President" stupidity you guys always spout. Here's a tip. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't make them a fake American. We have people of all colors and creeds here. There's no such thing as a "true" American. We're ALL Americans.

And I've never ran from any of you. I'm right here.

  17.
  18. Here's another tip. Illegals have been coming across the border for centuries. Why wasn't it a huge problem under Bush? As I recall, the GOP had all the power back then. They could have passed an immigration bill. Hell, they could have built a fence. They didn't. So why is it a problem now that the black guy is in office?

And let me see if I have this right. Your parents snuck across the border illegally, but you're against others doing it?

    *facepalm*

Your parents came here for a better life. They didn't do it legally they just came. As a result, you were born here as a citizen and now you have a better life. But now you're angry because other people are doing it? You want everyone else to do it the right way? I'm curious. Have you considered telling your parents to go back and start again the right way because they're offending your sense of morality?

Look up the meaning of the word hypocrite. It's a common viral infection among many conservatives, as is the "I got mine, screw everyone else" else attitude.

  19. So, I'm looking for your opinion on last nights election results. Please help this Canadian moose try to understand what the hell just happened. From what I've seen..

    1. Republicans won control of the senate by picking up 7 seats, with the final tally likely being 9 seats, or even 10.

    2. Contested governors races that were a coin toss all went the republican way (with the exception of Pennsylvania)

Most interesting races were in Wisconsin, where republican gov Scott Walker won his third election in 4 years (Jesus Christ Wisconsin! How many elections do you need???) and Illinois, where democrat gov Quinn lost every last county in his state (with the exception of cook county). This is Obamas home state! (Politically speaking). Wow.

So, my question to you guys is, what does all this stuff mean?

Are Americans taking their country back?

What happened to all the democrats?

Why the change in why the change in public opinion?

    What happens next?

Anyhow, I'm absolutely fascinated by what happened last night, and I'd love your opinions and thoughts on it. Talk to the Moose!
I love that My state is republican now

  20. That failed I will find ur color ways moose!
