Lady grabs a cookie and bites into it. "Mmmmmm! You are an amazing baker Irin! I'm not too bad myself, everyone likes my creme brûlée!"
"Fine. Her taking overly body has become kind of normal. I wonder if she can take over me during the day though..."
"I hope not Lady. That would be bad." Star says. He once again carried his blaster at his side, for protection.
Irin smiles. "Thanks lady! I would love to try some of your desserts one of these days. And I really hope everything is okay with...the spirit thing. Maybe somehow we can drive her away?" She turns to Star and says. "Yesterday was a little nerve rakeing for me too."
Irin nods, then takes a cookie for herself and puts the pan on the counter. She looks around the cafe, seeing it almost empty, except for her, Star, Alex, and Lady. Again, Irin sighed.
It was awhile before Irin answered. "I don't know," she finally said. "Maybe nothing. Maybe everything. But I don't think anyone knows the truth about anyone else. Not the whole truth, anyway." Irin looked to Alex for confirmation, and he nodded. "She's right," Alex said. "No one knows the whole truth."
Alex stood and began pacing back and forth. "Its complicated," he said. "I was...designed...to know others secrets."
"Oh. Well... That's interesting. What am I talking about, that's SWEET! Just like these cookies!" Lady grabs another cookie, wondering how much Alex knew about her. She blushed just thinking about it.
"But...that's the thing. It's not 'sweet,' it horrible. Secrets are dangerous." Alex said. He stopped pacing and sat down.
Suddenly, in a dark corner, some one began to appear. The dark shape swirled around for a bit before turning into a human shape. He looked like an older man, around fifty of sixty. His once black hair was streaked with silver and white and was longer, almost shoulder length. His beard was similar in color to his hair, but was short. He was covered in black armor, covered by a cloak with a serpentine pin that matched his bright emerald eyes. "Hello humans." his deep voice rumbled. "And elf," he added noticing Irin's ears. "I was wondering if any of you have seen GlooMi today. She didn't come back last night. Not that she normally returns. She enjoys her time amongst the humans." he smiled at them, but no warmth colored his eyes.
