System Wars - getting started

  1. This is meant as a guide to new players trying to get into system wars. I would recommend skimming this guide, and then jumping into a regular lowland war (not clan lowland) as a tank (15 coe, 4 adt, 1 sos, 4 sdt - all lvl 3) to get some practical experience - and maintain a combination of learning / reading with actual war experience

    First, some basic information

There are 3 main war types

    Individual (Indi):

All stats included - including propacks, charms, furniture. Generally the most unbalanced

    Kingdoms and Allies (KA):

    Self-explanatory

    Lowland (LL):

    Only lowland buildings

    Terms:

Plunder: The anount of gold you've gained in the war

KO: When a player reaches 0 troops and 0 spies (0/0), they are in the knockout (KO) state where they cannot send outgoing hits or receive incoming. If an enemy knocks you out, they steal 10% of your plunder and get an additinal bonus payout

AKO - you get koed by an attack - if successful, an AKO pays 5x the gold of a regular attack

SKO: self knock out - when your own action brings you knockout. You lose a small amount of plunder.

Leak: Losing incoming attacks to enemy players

    ZT: Zero troops

    ZS: Zero spies

    ADT: Attack (troop) defense towers

    SDT: Spy Defense Towers

Dive: Zero your own troops as quickly as possible, often by sending fails on a large enemy

    Overview

Wars have a simple premise - Each side is given limited resources (1 initial bar, regens, and 1 or more health crystals)

Whichever side ends up with more plunder at the end wins - the side that wins determined by which side gets better resources and how well those resources are used.

Generally, Kingdoms and Allies and Lowland are relatively balanced giving each team similar resources. Indi is generally unbalanced

    Plunder

In most wars, the majority of your teams plunder is from winning attacks on enemy targets - so using troop efficiently is the main way teams can get advantages. This topic is surprisingly complex, so we won't get into too much detail here

For new members, the goal is to minimize the number of efficient attacks that the enemy team can win on you - see my troop loss guide linked below for what efficiency means

As a rule of thumb, you should dive your troops when the enemy can get easy attack wins on your - some heuristics

    • you are in the lower half the clan roster (for ka/indi)
    • you are under 50% troops as a tank
    • if you have low adt

Both teams will coordinate hits on the weakest players with troops, often with assassination support from spy builds, and blitz them with attacks once they get weak.

Wars are generally won by these massive blitz attacks on weaker targets, as well as hitting players as they regenerate troops.

Kartolemy, Nate and poTaYto like this.
  2. 15-4-1-4 is probably overkill on the sdt. Not too many ps1 are casting in my experience.

I'd recommend 16-4-1-3 i think. You will have the same sdt as everyone and an extra adt, you probably won't get chosen as the skim because of the adt and you'll plunder a bit more. This is probably splitting hairs though.
