Suicide Prevention

  1. I would like to add on here, if you are taking depression medication, make sure it’s the right dosage. And PLEASE do not take other people’s medication. It NEEDS to be the right dosage for YOU.

Most suicides that happen while the victim is on medications is because of a lower dosage than needed. Suicide is listed as a side of effect of the medication because of this. And I can explain.

Depression causes low energy. Low enough that you want to commit suicide, however you do not have the energy to do so. If you are on a dosage too low, you may still have the suicidal thoughts and tendencies, but now you have the small boost of energy to follow through with those thoughts.

Keep in mind, any major life change (moving, break ups, marriages, children, deaths, ANYTHING MAJOR TO YOU!) can cause changes to your body, and in turn means your medications have to be adjusted. Please keep up with these.

  2. Are you a licensed psychologist? ...if not you shouldnt be (even if you are) giving this type of advice.

Pretty much EVERY valid mental health professionals will tell you to NOT follow the advice you read online...

Anyone who has mental health issues please refer to a licensed mental health professional in person ...not KAW forums

  3. Never helps to give advice! But yes please refer to professionals or the numbers given for immediate and/or intense help.

  4. It was well intended and worded juuuuuuusst right ....but honestly dont take mental health advice from anyone online, see someone in RL ...especially when it comes to taking any SSRI or any meds.
