An what if your team is crushing the other side and doesn't need to xstal? We burn a xstal just for medallions sake?
I think you should get 1 medallion for being active in a indy war and 2-3 for winning. We all know the ups and downs of indy wars are harder to overcome than reg wars. In clan watts you either know your gonna win or lose before it even starts and primal its a crap shoot as well imo.
If you didn't need to xtal and you win just drop in last second, or could be coded to give you the option to exchange a xtal for a medal after win
