Mexico on the brink of civil war

  1. In my opinion, no matter how bad the current government of Mexico is, getting rid of it now would cause more problems than it would solve (at least in the short term). For example, the Mexican military would be divided between government loyalists and rebel sympathizers. This would make it more difficult to combat the drug cartels that plague Mexico currently, and many more people would be killed as a result. :|

  2. He's probably asking for proof that the government was involved in the abduction of those protesters.

  3. I don't know if they are. I never said they were. If they were, I'm sure more hate is coming to the government.

  4. She* was asking for proof that the gov't had anything to do with it.

I could say Obama has Canadian slaves in his basement but without proof, its just a story

  5. Time to call the 3 amigos....no longer will El Guapos reign of Terror (troll that's for you ) go on!

  6. So my dad's a cop and he said his friend was working the border and the cartels would bring police up to the borders and execute them in front of everybody.

  7. I feel for my Mexican people years of extortion murder rapes kidnappings is finally making more and more people stand up against the corrupted gov and cartels. In my parents home town of Michoacan they have a group of civilians known as autodefensas combating the cartels.

  8. breaking the law says a smooth criminal

  9. The violence is pretty bad but in my eyes it's "possibly" a good sign that Mexico is actually on the beginning of the road to cleaning up it's long long term drug problems ...up until about ten years ago (little longer maybe) there really was no widespread violence connected to Mexican drug cartels. The fact that there's actually factions of the Mexican government that are fighting the drug cartels is a positive sign ...of course cleaning up this problem brings violence. What was to be expected? They were allowed to run their illegal drug manufacturing and smuggling operations since ..well the beginning. A lot of these cartels are family businesses that have been operating for generations ...yeah it'll prob get worse before it gets better.

  10. There's a reason America doesn't jump the border and stop them.
Nearly free labor. Those people jump the border, come to this country, and take any job they can for less than minimum wage. This saves money for big businesses, and helps the government that is sustained by big businesses.
And as long as they keep jumping that fence, seeking low-pay work, we'll keep taking them in (unofficially) and not bother with what's happening over there.
Either that, which I just came up with, or the Mexican government has denied our aid because corrupted officials are making cash off the cartels.
    Take your pick.

  11. Politics should be banned from KaW but well lets talk about it.

Ayotzinapa was just another event ordered by the president EPN. 43 students were tortured and burned alive. Students still are disappeared, government says it was the order of the governor of Guerrero ABARCA, but people believe and know that was president's order to kill this students.

I would like to see a better structured thread with more details about the case.

  12. Of course America doesn't go deal with the cartels. Even though as pointed out the cartels are obvious terrorist.

Reason: There is no financial incentive. We didn't go attack Iraq and Afghans because of terrorism. We did it for control of the Iraqi oilfields. No Iraqi oilfields in Mexico. (\_*

  13. Completely agree with financial but also, are cartels really that bad? They mass kill, yes. but once they get control of a place they set up hospitals and jobs(admittedly drug producing) then sell the drugs and weapons to outside parties keeping the people in there territory safe, it's a strange system but it's not as bad as U think, as for the government that dose need to change.

Also 6 of American States were stolen land from Mexico so ironic how they ask us to give back Gaza Strip when they stole thousands of sq kilometres of land from the mexicans

  14. Mexico doesn't have enough oil or political importance for the USA to care.

    Same as Venezuela.

The USA would rather help and bomb Syria or get involved with Ukraine because there may be a monetary or political power gain in those conflicts.

In Mexico, a civil war would mean little to us at the current point in time other that accepting refugees and moving factories from there to China.

  15. Mexico is the biggest producer of oil in America.... Not enough?

  16. ?? Venezuela doesn't have oil??? Venezuela is the 5th largest exporter of oil in the world and has the largest known oil reserves proven to exist...
...and yes Mexico has oil too they have the 2nd largest known oil reserves to exist and there's talk of opening drilling up there. Pease get your facts straight and don't bash America just for the sake of bashing America.

  17. Actually having control of oil means nothing. OPEC controls pricing of oil and everything that goes along with the power of having oil. Not the individual companies. Please people learn a little bit before you talk out of the side of your neck. A better argument was the "cheap/free labor" post lol. Oil literally has very little power within itself. Unless you can somehow control OPEC. Mexico needs aid whether it's accepted by the corrupt government there or not. Make their lives better and less people will run to America to have a decent life.

  18. Not every Mexican is illegal. Not all jump the "boarder".

Also I hope most of you know Mexico borders you to the south and their problems are your problems. Why? Cause the cartels bring drugs and weapons into your country. They supply gangs. They make gang problems in the US worse. But y'all are fools and only think about yourself and how it doesn't affect you. Also many Hispanics. (Most Mexican) serve your country. Through the military. I hope y'all know that also. So maybe you should care about the countries near you.

  19. This.
