Is this the same crew that put down playstation network for 4+ months? Its not impossible to do it, you can find companies ip addresses by googling them. So yes it is possible, with the right now how.
Tbh, if microsoft found their location, they would wait for arrests before making it public knowledge that they tracked them down! Also, just because it's on social media, doesn't mean it's true
It definitely happened yesterday, there's been several statements released about the issues as well as the threats about what will be coming on Christmas. The Lizard squad told Microsoft users that they should be grateful, PSN got it worse than we did (previous incident). Perhaps you were lucky, I noticed myself that when I turned on my 360 I couldn't load up Netflix or AW. It claimed I was not logged onto my gold account. But I turned on my One and everything was running smoothly. Perhaps that's what he meant by PSN got it worse- being that everyone wasn't taken offline. As for the tweet from "xbox one" about the FBI- that's a parody account. You can tell easily, as it's not verified. I'm sure they'll be caught, but who the heck is going to be spending their Xmas on XBL anyways.
It sounds like a whole bunch of angry xbox kiddies found out what hive mind does! Huzzah! Now do something more fun, ddos isn't a hack it's spam.
I think theyll try hack the servers to give out games/dlc for free, on all platforms... thats more a hope but anyway
They don't have any real skill, they didn't actually hack anything. What does the military want with spammers? Help sending out chain letters?
^^^ exactly, all they do is spam the servers, crashing the servers with "blanks", same thing happened to Kaw servers the other week or so.
The KaW server was indirect, so it was the host company to blame for that. Honestly this "lizard squad" isn't anything new. Remember when PSN was shut down? Same deal, the hive mind was just bigger.
People will just about believe anything these days even if it's kiddies, anyways if it was that much a big deal I would of heard about it in college since well we play Xbox. As inferno said it's not hacking and more spamming unless information. This comment reminds me of a story where a drunken cadet stole a tank out of the base he was stationed at, drove the tank straight into a school field. Now what's interesting about it all is, they couldn't figure out how he managed to get the tank onto the field, they couldn't drive the tank out without damaging the school. Now that's what you call blind drunken luck, when a novice, can do a better job than the specialises.
Short version. Some selfish geeks did something bad to prove how sad they are. Got it ty. Next time can you start a post by not telling me whether I will like what I read. I'd rather decide that for myself.
