It's not a troll, it's a fact. You were getting MORE at the time. You purchased SOD before promo, you get a 50% promo increase after purchase, and gain more for less. You're being too miopic to view it from any other angle besides being on a soap box of irrelevance. You were paying for the same gold you're making still on HTE, which is still the best gold/hour EB, still being the fastest way to make gold.
Tend to agree, I only purchase right before it's my turn to seal. Some people did stock up during the sales though which if you have the cash for was the smart play at the time . But I'd be lying if I said I gave a crap about them.
Ata shouldn't run things like Black Friday then which encourages such things... Perhaps they shouldn't be so eager to grab the cash too? Bait and switch isn't business 101,though. You can't really argue that people paid for something and then had it devalued. The description of hte explicitly said 3x the gold of regular haunt. It really doesn't matter if the gold you're getting from hte is the same or not. People paid for an advantage that's not what they are getting now. Buyer beware is good advice, but there's also rules that businesses must adhere to. There's a reason ata changed the description on it. However doing so doesn't change prior purchases.
You bought when it was 3x. It is now no longer 3x. Bait and switch is much different. I bought a stock 3x more valuable than yours. Now it's only 2x more months llater, but my stock still has same value.
Really don't know what some of you are complaining about. When HTE came out, Devs used the 3x pay of Haunting to give us info about how much gold we could get. Now Haunting pay is changed. But HTE still pays exactly the same amount of gold as it did before. It is still the best paying eb there is. And you still need to buy a seal for 59 nobs to open it. Nothing about HTE has changed. Nothing at all. Just be happy the smaller ebs give more plunder now, so smaller members have a better chance to grow and stay in this game.
You just freaking described what bait and switch is. They advertised something and then switched it. The whole issue is what it was advertised as and what people paid for being changed. You can't do that. I have no clue why that concept is so difficult to grasp. You're comparing a product to a stock. Seriously?
I don't understand why this is a discussion. When people bought Black Friday seals that was in the knowledge that HTE pays out 3x gold of hauntings at that time. This is still completely true, HTE pays 3x the haunting at the time even now. If HTE still said 3x haunting costs then I'd see the argument but those who stocked up are getting the same gold now as they did when they originally bought their seals. I kinda feel like people want there to be "Haunting: The Original" which is identical to original haunting and then HTE can be advertised as 3x HTO. But then we'd have way too many acronyms for the haunting... Basically, people who pay get more money than those who don't. Plus they get extra event items. HTE is still a premium eb and people need to relax about the semantics of standard haunting gold payout.
Bait and switch kaw example: Last event the 5k skull tier banner was advertised as 2/2/1/1, then during event (or after) it was changed to 1.5/1.5/1/1. That is a bait and switch. The 3x advantage is now lower than 3x (not really by much either if you look at average total payouts of haunt vs HTE for a clan, it's now around 2.5x). This is a case of buyer beware, as kaw is well known to offer promos and plunder adjustments on EBs as time progresses to 'better the community". If kaw has never adjusted plunder on EBs before this date, there would be a bigger cause for concern. I remember when there was an outrage over TFC paying less than haunts, then the devs adjusted TFC to pay more, because they had claimed it to replace haunts for larger players. Also, HTE was only supposed to be a LIMITED TIME promo itself. Now here we sit arguing over it still being the highest gold EB in the game, but because it's no longer 3x advantage over the lesser kingdoms whom now can enjoy increased plunder on regular haunts to try to narrow the gap SOMEWHAT, you're going to rage? Sorry, no sympathy here. It was billed as 3x haunt. Haunt plunder changed to help better the community of less spendy players (along with many other EBs), in a game in which many are in outrage over most recent power gap, and you still need to find SOMETHING to gripe about. Get over yourselves.
You 'invest' money on virtual goods, and the return on investment is variable as your build changes. The logic is the same. Stop crying.
You're adding words that weren't there. It didn't say 3x the gold of haunt right now or 3x the gold of haunt unit a certain date. You can't just add words that didn't exist to make an argument.
Also, I have plenty of SoD in stock from black Friday sales. I could care less. I care more about helping kaw than whining to keep the status quo.
