The idea of thinking Brady ordered those balls to be deflated, yet its somehow the refs fault for not catching it seems like a misappropriation of responsibility. Yea. The refs should have caught it, but, at the time, they didn't. Does that mean that the person who did the cheating is clean? I don't think so. There's enough blame to go around for sure, but this all starts with Brady, and it should end with him too. And honestly, people who say "we don't know if Brady ordered it or not" are really being willfully blind. Of course the balls were deflated, and if course Tom ordered it, and as we have seen before, the pats have no problem cheating (see spy gate). Fans may try, but, I won't let Brady be the victim in this story. As for the Super Bowl, yes, the pats should go, and yes, Brady should be suspended, but that's never going to happen. Why? The main reason is because this scandal will really drive ratings. The Super Bowl is already the hugest American event in live broadcast, but this will really really really drive numbers even higher as people tune in to see if the pats can get away with cheating again.
On the up side, if you watch the game, view the crowd. I'm sure there will he some very clever signs there with footballs and horses and pumps lol.
You just created your own defense in your last messages moose. 1st off I don't know how canada does it but we have a system here in America. You either PROVE your claims or get sued for defamation. Whether Brady did it or not is irrelevant. Can you prove conclusively without a shadow of a doubt that he ordered it? Speculation and butthurt will only get you so far. In America you have to have proof. If you can't PROVE he physically deflated or ordered the balls deflated, then he DIDNT DO IT. Period. Second(here is where you created the defense to your own argument) MEDIA. Are you sure this even happened? Or is the media playing it up because they know there are millions (billions?maybe) of sheeple that watch this and will concern themselves with it. Thirdly, you sound extra butthurt lol
First off it's not a court system, it's a private enterprise. Secondly, the only evidence we know so far is 11 of the 12 Patriots balls (and none of the Colts 12 balls) had been deflated. Third off, there is a major issue with the integrity of the sport here. The Patriots essentially have been caught cheating AGAIN. The only reason the NFL is holding off judgement on this is because they chose to protect the investors rather than the game itself. People paid MILLIONS for 30 second ads, these people would be pissed if a back up QB had to go to the game resulting in less people watching. Honestly, it's not a 100% but it pretty much is almost right there that this happened and we won't know until judgement passes but this cannot be tolerate in a professional sport. The fact not only that it's outright cheating and directly affects the outcome of e very game it happens in (not saying they would've lost the game, but it does have direct effect on it) and that this Patriots Team has a .500 post season record with NO SUPER BOWLS since they were last caught cheating (and have rumors to have been cheating in all 3 close Super Bowls they won) they need the book thrown at them in order to maintain integrity of the sport if found guilty. The penalty needs to be larger and more significant than the Peyton penalty because at least his crime had no immediate impact on the actual integrity of the game.
Actually the refs knew about the deflated footballs at halftime and replaced them with regulated footballs within the confines of the rules. With these regulated footballs the patriots went on to win the second half 28 - 0
Well I'm sure American sport fans in general really don't care about cheaters making millions. They will continue supporting n keep on coming out as they always have. No respect for clean competition. No proof that states otherwise n this is only another story on the heap. Black Sox, Pete Rose, Bonds, many more MLB cannot bother listing. Lance Armstrong, Marion Jones. Steroids in the NFL RIP Lyle Alzado. Since the East Bloc cheating era good ol US of A now #1 Go Seahawks
Not claiming all Americans r the same. I claim that sports see no fallout from any issue that arises. In Canada we r not the land of litigation. That said fans r sheep n boycotting is not of any value to their principles when same ppl continue on supporting unabated.
Proof is 11/12 balls deflated.. Penalties r obvious n who cares to who. Patriots r responsible n if it goes further than that then proof for individuals. NFL as a private enterprise or not is in the hands of the fans n their wallets. My bet is nothing will change n the NFL will keep on truckin to the bank. Concussions lawsuits r next up n hopefully the NCAA also gets into the 21st century as well with all of their problems as well. Who will stand up..Wallets or People
I'm pretty sure they used 24 balls DMC. No way the colts would have won that game. I took a old girlfriend to foxboro for her birthday. That game was a low point in my life. Still no way the colts win that game. They only fun part of that day was the drunk guy who wanted to beat me up and yelling at Nick Saban.
I think it's a conspiracy. I feel like the balls were stolen by the referees by order. a lot of people want to see russell wilson and sherman destroy Brady and Gronk. Just like all the other fake events being used for promotion lately.
I had the Pats winning also. This distraction only hurts the image of the Pats n the NFL. What comes of it makes me curious. I don't expect any action til after the Super Bowl. Anything tarnishing the game will be avoided. Justice can just wait. The show must go on.
Everything midget_lover has said is correct. Unless an investigation uncovers some kind of complex machinations on the part of the Patriots, it is ultimately the responsibility of the officials to ensure the integrity of the game on the field.
And the NFL levies punishment for rules infractions. Is there any disputing the deflated balls? If none then who's is liable faces discipline. Will the NFL act or side-step?
yeah. and they did. which is why; when it was brought to their attention, the balls were tested and inflated. but really what you are saying is: it isn't the teams responsibility not to cheat; its the officials responsibility to catch them cheating.
The NFL should be measuring the balls during the game. Before, during and after. This wouldn't have happened if they did. And we would not be talking about this. It's only a big deal because 99% of America hates New England. Winning ruins a rep. Nobody likes a dominant force for this amount of time. Bill Belichick has been outwitting and winning more than most coaches for 13 years now, and is about to win another Super Bowl. Truth: other teams video taped other teams practices. Truth: other teams have deflated balls before. But, since it's New England getting caught...let's jump on the hate wagon. That's ok. We NE fans feed off your hate. It's the coal in our fire.
