Hail Marinara, Full of Spice, The Flying Spaghetti Monster is filled with thee. Tasty art thou amongst sauces, and blessed is the fruit of thy jar, tomatoes (although fools believe they are vegetables). Holy Marinara, Chief Amongst Toppings, Save a plate for us now, and at about 6 o’clock when dinner is served, if you would be so kind. RAmen.
I always find posts of these types to be humorous because the posters seem to find themselves as somehow "more enlightened" than others. The fact that anyone can create a religious belief system and fill it with pseudoreligious terminology does not mean that therefore there is no God, or that all religions are false. Additionally it is not possible for all religions to be equally true because they make competing truth claims (claims that negate one another). However, just because not all can be true does not mean that there cannot be one true spiritual system, even if no structured religious system correctly expresses it. The ability recognize error presupposes underlying truth. This is not for me to say here which system may or not represent the closest expression of truth, but rather to point out that the ability to make fun of something doesn't negate its validity.
Spaghetti is mans creation, this makes no sense whatsoever. How could it create everything but be mans creation?
Let them have their spaghetti monster. Their beliefs are no more absurd than those Christianity are built on
I've found thst this pastafarian movement is incredibly disrespectful. It was founded by athiest Dawkins as a satirical way to poke a stick in the eye of all religious people. The problem is, instead of winning people over to his view point, it simply pisses people off. There need not be any conflict between god and science, and those who insist upon it are simply confrontational bullies. The pastafarian movement does nithing to forward any narrative in a meaningful way Now, of you DO want to have an interesting discussion about god and religion. I would ask the forumers who have a genuinely curious mind and 17 minutes to kill to do this. Please go to youtube and type into the search engine "the end of materialism" and give me your review. It will be in the top of the list when you search it. Its Densely packed with information and it moves fast, but, I guarintee, there is no satire involved. Weather you agree or not with it, its intellectually interesting. I'd love to hear what forum has to say on it.
Is the god in that video I've requested people to watch Allah? Jesus? Budah? Yahweh? Or something else? That's a Question for a different thread. The video, however, does take an interesting approach to saying why god exists, and it can be the basis for the underpinning of what ever religion you think he reveals him selfs to you is. I find that video to be much more satisfying than some antagonistic piece about a Flying Spaghetti Monster by Dawkins
My pleasure. I'm so glad you enjoyed it :-) I've subscribed to his channel. He's got tons of really good stuff
To dare, this thread has been Respectuf and well posted. However, if it degrades into pointless mudslinging and trolling, its getting a lock. Keep it intellectual. Keep it civil. Failure to do so will simply prove that forum cannot have nice things
1)the way you feel when you read about pastafarianism is the way atheist feel whenever anyone talks about their religion. 2) it isn't meant to "mock" it is meant to express how WE feel about things like the magic stories presented in religious text. 3) reductio ad absurdum is a valid form of argument
Do you really not see how you are being disrespectful? It is literally made to mock theism. There is no reason for it otherwise to be a dick to the theists.
