It's impossible to have a peaceful world when people with opposite views are blinded by their own ignorance and unable to respect opinions.
Perhaps when ppl start accepting responsibility for their actions - if u get caught stealing, then your going to court, same if you do any other crime - when ppl start realizing that one "color" isn't any more deserving than the other perhaps we'll get a better world. Ps feel sorry for the town of ferguson ATM
Exactly..ops post where but ppl with no names. We have names to identify ourselves n citizenry to say where from.
Referring to the victim n the defendant as black n white is a poor example of society. The deceased family is mourning their loss while this forum only discusses a debate on what exactly? Disrespectful to say the least leaving the teen nameless as if he is insignificant.
I'm a southern guy in a racist state. I have many black friends who are just as good as my white ones. Just because he may be black doesn't make him an automatic thug or criminal. Just because someone is white doesn't mean they're a great person either. There's good people in every race all over the world.
I'm black and I agree with the decision. What I don't like is some of u kats on here putting us all in 1 group. People of all races play the victim and abuse government resources. Oh and just cut we have a black president don't mean racism don't exisit. It's there just not seen by those who care not to look. I deal with it a lot just like people of all races but to say it don't exisit or play it off like it ended 50 years ago is just pure ignorance to u r surroundings.
That's the answer for cowards. Think I'm gonna run cut some people hate me cut of the color if my skin. I ain't giving up what I got for the ignorant few and if those few wanna come to me and try to make me move then here I am and here I'll die.
This is a brief synopsis of wilson's interview. This wasn't written by me but it goes along with his interview from what I've read of his interview. I've also made some changes to make it safe for forums. (Removal of foul language) (most of my edits are done with parentheses as well) He also received a report of a robbery before the occurrence. He goes over general information about how long he has been with the force, and what he was doing that day. He just left another call, which he called a '(removed in case it means something against ToU)' a term which I am unfamiliar with. He is driving down the road when he sees two black males walking in the middle of the road. He asks them to walk on the sidewalk, one of them points out that they are almost to their destination, he says "Okay, but what's wrong with the sidewalk." and one of them responds, "(idc-my edit) what you have to say." Wilson puts his car in reverse and drives back 10 feet to them, and radios in for reinforcement. He tries to open the door, opens it about a foot, and then Brown shuts the door on him. At this point, there has been no injury to either party. Wilson attempts to open the door, and Brown holds it shut with his body. Brown leans into the window, and begins assaulting Wilson with his fists. Wilson is attempting to block the attacks, and also to reach for his mace. To clarify locations at this point; Wilson is in his car(a marked police Tahoe if I remember right) in the driver's seat. Brown is leaning in from the middle of the road. As a result, Wilson is using his left hand to defend himself and is unable to reach his mace with his right. Instead, he takes his gun out and threatens to shoot. [Wilson defends his decision to use his firearm because he doesn't trust his mace in close proximity, and because he doesn't have a taser.]. Brown says "You're too much of a chicken to shoot me," and then attempts to grab the gun. He rotates the gun so it is pointing at Wilson's hip and Wilson manages to point it back at Brown. He tries shooting twice, but the gun fails to fire. He pulls the trigger a third time and hits. Brown steps back for a moment, realises he is okay, and then resumes his assault. Wilson manages to fire another shot, but misses. Brown begins to run away. Wilson takes a second to request reinforcements. He gets out of his car to follow Brown. Brown, who had been running away, turns around and begins to approach Wilson. Wilson walks backwards for a bit, and then Brown appears to be getting ready to charge. Wilson begins firing at Brown until he stops. (The last paragraph is heavily summarized compared to the rest of the synopsis.) (also to clarify I think he means the control of the gun changed 2? times for example as in when the gun was pointed at the officers hip) Also it would be nice to read some of evidence if you mean to meaningfully discuss the case.
The cop should have postponed pursuit until back up arrived. He could've gotten back in his car and waited 5 minutes. It was a poor decision to pursue a suspect that he couldn't control (Wilson stated: it was like a toddler wrestling with hulk hogan-not exact quote). When Wilson established that he could not handle the two suspects he should've backed up further and waited. Instead he placed himself in a situation that left him with little options beside lethal force. It was his decision that led to the shooting of an unarmed man. In cases of self-defense one must've been trapped and unable to elude their attacker. Wilson had an opportunity to escape. His decision to pursue then made him the aggressor. There is a terrible double standard for law enforcement in this regard. For the record, the injuries to Wilson's face were very minor. I couldn't even tell from the photo that he was punched hard at all. you can't even see any swelling. Anyone that's ever been in a fight you're gonna have some bumps on your face, fat lip, black eye, something. Dude's face was red.
Normally I disapprove of the justice system of over zealous cops being the judge, jury and executioner. But this is not the case, as pup says justice was served. If the cop didn't act the way he did then he would most properly be in a coffin and the child would be running around with a gun. People are to arogrant to see what was happening and see this as a racial attack, which is shameful and despicable to think. A innocent cop acting in the line of duty is now in your misguided minds a crimal, shame on you all who think that :|
who cares it's plain and simple assault and trying to go for an officers weapon is enough grounds to shoot this "thug". I wouldn't of thought twice it's common sense not to assault authority speacily after they've gave you plenty of chances to disassist. Once he was shot/gun went off he should have dropped to his knees put his hands behind his head and awaited for officers back up to detain him instead he challenged an officer tried for his weapon twice i might add which was obvious what he was going to do with it if he where to succeed.
Maybe just a few. I feel it important the story line of the peaceful protesters and peace keepers takes main focus. It seem the police stopped regular patrols of the town. Durning that time building were put to flame. Kids looting. And general chaos. Some things not worse then the after events of some college football games. Others, like arson more serious. They left the neighborhoods to the people and they couldn't protect their town.
