Ok, its Thursday here in mid west USA, so less then 24hrs til black Friday, which starts today in a lot of major stores. But still not a peep? Really? Maybe we should just put our $ to use somewhere else then?
Canadians, Eh? So....today is Thursday. Thanksgiving is always a Thursday in the way Easter is always Sunday. In the USA, it is generally seen as the #1 time for large family gatherings. It is also typically a month or so from Christmas, the big gift-giving day. This means it is the time where family members exchange Christmas plans and gift ideas. The fact that many persons get the entire Thursday-Sunday off as a holiday, coupled with fresh gift ideas, and the fact that supplies of some "hot item" gifts can run out as Christmas draws near led the Friday after thanksgiving to be the biggest gift-buying day. Some stores realized that to draw customers in it would be wise to have at least some excellent deals. Typically a large number of popular items are at a very nice discount, and a few loss-leaders are there to encourage people to choose THAT STORE for their Christmas gifts. So, in an ever-increasing arms race to have the most tantalizing deals, the "doorbuster" came to be. The "doorbuster" is an item, typically sold in limited quantities at an insanely low price. It got it's name from the way people would line up before the store opened to bust in through (and hopefully not bust down) the doors and race for the items as soon as the store opened. This often causes unruly mob-like behavior, and fights have been known to break out, employees and shoppers have been trampled... Also increasing the madness is the fact that stores keep moving their "open for black Friday" time ever earlier, to the point it is now overtaking thanksgiving itself, threatening to ruin the day as a day of family feasting. So...why "black" Friday? To the owners of some retail stores that rely on the holiday gift-giving for up to half their yearly sales, it represents the day their yearly profits go from red (a loss) to black. To shoppers, lining up (some would say like fools) in the cold dark early hours of the morning, it represents the black sky, and the looming "battle" for the doorbusters. To the employees, however, it is a dark day indeed. Often forced to open the store as early as midnight, perhaps being asked to stay 12 hours...and facing a mob of combative shoppers who will push, pull, trample, fight, and snatch...to the employees who must fear for their safety on little sleep for those poor souls it is a black Friday indeed.
All of you "turkeys" forget about the mith sales... go to war and earn them like a respectable warrior/combatant! Happy Thanksgiving! Happy Kawing!
yes some form of discounts just for guild hansels to convert. since your nerfing guild hansels at least give us a chance...
Why should the devs cater to people who chose to stunt their growth. the game changes get used to it and build up just like the rest of us have....one building at a time
I am not sure it will influence anything, but here are a few things I would like to see: 1. Some advance warning of what will be done. (Ever bought a expensive TV only to see the exact same model at 50% of a month later?) It is really annoying. 2. An attractive package of nobs and xtals at a huge discount. Say 200 xtals and 700 nobs in a pack at 99.99. I started just under 6 months ago and I have been playing for free up to now. I have been fortunate enough to have enjoyed the help of experienced players to grow and to start warring. I even made it to rancor 50. But the free xtals have run out and I need to decide if I want to continue playing. Since I really like the system wars, I need xtals. So it is play and pay or look gor another game for me... ( hitting ebs, doesn't give me the challenge I need to make this hobby intelectually worth while.) The nobs would be interesting to get access to some pro packs which would allow me to stop warring with a 20% handicap. So I am at a crossroad here. A nice discounted pack would help me sway my decision in going for more wars... I guess it would beneficial to keep this pack at a discount after black friday but it could only be bought once, your first purchase... Just my personal thought...
