Welcome to "Make up your own awards categories" movie awards thread! It's pretty simple.. You make up a category, nominate some contestant(s), and give the award!.. Let's look back at 2015 shall we?.. Here's some to get you started.. The "Rachel Weisz, Patricia Velasquez in Mummy Returns" Hawt Catfight award: Rhonda Rousey and Michelle Rodriquez in Fast 7 --------------------------- Best use of a song IN the movie award: "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus in The Night Before.. "Sarah: You can cry to it. You can run to it. You can party to it. Isaac: Timeless!" --------------------------- Best Adapted Screenplay or "I just ripped off some Ancient Greek play cos the new kids think everything is original" award: Spike Lee ripping off Lysistrata by Aristophanes --------------------------- Best "I wanna be that guy!" For Guys award: A three way tie between Sly still looking ripped 39! Years after his first Rocky movie to Creed.. Tom Cruise hanging out of planes at age 53 in Rogue Nation.. And Magic Mike XXL --------------------------- Breakout performance by a set of Thighs award: Amy Schumer in Star Wars --------------------------- Best performance by a Car award: Take your pick.. --------------------------- The "Hey I know the place where this scene was shot" award: Ahhh.. Have you all seen the Revenant?.. All the locations in BC and Alberta are places I regularly hike/canoe/snow shoe.. Yes.. Even in the winter.. Recent pic I took.. --------------------------- Best Action Hero Duo award: Yes, Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner combo was awesome in Rogue Nation, yes the testy bromance between Ironman and Captain America (prelude to Civil war) was great in Age of Ultron, yes, even those two dudes in the Man from U.N.C.L.E were refreshing.. But the award goes to.. Jason Statham and Jude Law in SPY.. --------------------------- Best subversive injection of a 70's protest song into a blockbuster: I think a revival of infusing those hard hitting 60's 70's music in the big movies is coming back.. For example, the use of Sam and Dave's "Hold on I'm comin'" cover in Hateful Eight.. It's kinda sad though, cos those songs really were not about the popcorn entertainment that our sedate masses relish these days.. The award goes to "I love to change the world" by Ten Years After in Terminator:Genisys --------------------------- Best John Cena moment: The one where he does a quickie and passes out in Trainwreck --------------------------- Best Breakout role by a Hawt Actress: Daisy Ridley.. Yes! Yes!.. Finally a hawt kickass Jedi!.. Is she Luke's daughter? (in that case, would make her a cousin to Kilo)..When (and with whom) did Luke scored??!!? --------------------------- Best Kung Fu movie: Kung Fu Killer.. Donnie Yen is seriously bringing Hong Kong Wing Chun styles back into fashion.. Jackie Chan is also classic in his reboot of The Police Story.. --------------------------- Best Gambling Movie: Mississippi Grind... Ryan Reynolds and Siena Miller heats up the casinos and pool halls down in the bayou.. --------------------------- Best Wildlife documentary about Cougars: A tie between Hot Pursuit and Sisters.. Suggest away!.. I really hope this thread makes it to page 2 without the human centipede 3 winning an award..
