Read up before posting please... the xbone cannot handle 4 k at all and the ps4 upon launch and after can run the resolution only on video and NOT on games. "The ps4 supports 4k output but only for video and photos" -yoshida The graphic card in the ps4 can run 4k just fine just only for videos and photos
I seen ppl claim xbox and ps4 can support 4k a few times on this thread didn't see many say only for video or photos but either way that's not what the systems are designed for so it's not relevant unless u want it as a movie center though I didn't think xbox one could support 4k at all it's graphics are a little slower then ps4 but either way it's not really a selling point
As I stated before I own a PlayStation 4 and there's one little thing I'd like to point out. Compared to the PlayStation 3 controller the battery of the PlayStation 4 controller runs out way faster. That is mostly because of the light that's been put on which is the size of the batman sign floodlight. Of course it's rechargable with the USB cable. For everything else I'm really happy and pleased with the console. Easy to use and good enough graphics and plenty enough games. Oh, and another fine plus over PC is I can nicely lay down on my couch while I'm playing my game on a large tv. but you can do that aswell with the Xbox of course. Both fine consoles Have you made your decision yet OP?
PS4 VS Xbox one *note: Since these are consoles which games are developed to run on separately, you cannot compare them the way in which you would compare PC games and performance. Hardware: CPU: Both PS4 and Xbox one have similar hardware, their APUs are pretty much both the same (APU= CPU+GPU cores into one die) Both systems have semi-custom x86 AMD APU, 8 cores/8 threads paired with a Radeon 7000-series GPU. Sony decided to clock their CPU speed at 1.60GHz, where as Microsoft decided to push theirs to 1.75GHz. So the Xbox 1 does have a slightly faster CPU clock speed GPU: Again, since they both use the same APU by AMD the GPUs are *almost identical, However this is where Sony has won.. The Xbox 1's GPU is clocked at 853MHz and has 12 CUs which is around 768 shader processors. The PS4 GPU is clocked at 800MHz and has 18 CUs which is around 1152 shader processors. To out it bluntly, the PS4 has a GPU thats around 50% more powerful, which is why its able to play 4k videos and view 4k pictures, the Xbox 1's GPU is capable of 4k but it'll just take more time to render RAM: RAM being one of the most key parts of any gaming console and any types of PC system, this is where Sony takes the lead BIG TIME. *Note 1: APU systems use a certain amount of allocated RAM as VRAM since a GPU that's embedded into a die has no space for dedicated VRAM (Video RAM). PS4 has 8GB of GDDR5 RAM @5500MHz. With GDDR5 being one of the fastest types of memory, that gives CPU and GPU A MASSIVE amount of bandwidth to work with, around 176GB/sec speeds. The Xbox 1 also has 8GB of RAM but DDR3 RAM @2133MHz, DDR3 memory works fine for most PCs because is ONLY used as RAM, where as systems with APU will benefit from fasted RAM because; see Note 1.With DDR3 RAM and speeds, that leaves the Xbox 1 with around 68.3GB/sec bandwidth, much less compared to the PS4. Don't think that Microsoft has completely cheap'ed out here though.. To compensate for the RAM speeds they've built in a 32MB SRAM memory buffer which can push around 102GB/sec on the bandwidth scale, it won't completely beat the GDDR5 memory on the PS4 but with the game developers using the buffer to their advantage while developing Xbox 1 games it *Could possibly stay on par with the PS4 My conclusion: the PS4 is the winner, however... i am more of a PC gamer I know this info because i was also curious to know if i would buy a PS4 or a Xbox one IF i were a console gamer, and i work with computer hardware daily so it wasn't much for me to get down, i thought i'd share it on this thread :ugeek:
Sorry for double posting but feel free to ask any questions relating to PS4 or Xbox one hardware, and also feel free to point out anything i might've missed.
Ps4 is better (better processor, ram etc and play station have many good exclusives (exclusive - game that appears only on 1 console)
All in all, either one you get is pretty much going to be the same. It mainly comes down to the community and UI's. Get what more of your friends have. I have a ps4 and its run great never had any problems what so ever, but I have nothing against XB1. I heard XB1 can overheat but i think as long as you have it on a hard surface you'll be good. Hopefully whichever purchase you make you enjoy!
Ps4 may have a lower clock speed for CPU but it's CPU is still a hair faster (though insignificant) then the xbox one the GPU and ram are it's bigger booster however the no one can really tell the difference as games will cut down to 30fps (which isn't noticeable by the human eye) from 60fps if graphics become to heavy. Personally I see ps4 cost less hair faster it's really comes down to the software side I haven't seen PSN down but I rarely use playStations anymore. To those claiming you can't use a PC on your big screen ever heard of HDMI lol your computer will plug right in to your hd TV though they won't plug in to the old Standard ones. I play metro 2033 straight to my tv at 720p. (Computer is unable to handle 1080p)
When I say computer unable to handle I mean mine is as it's not designed for gaming ^ it's just a tablet lol
Xbox one also has that massive cloud server. Supposedly improves matchmaking, in-game AI, etc. Add that onto the "Xbox good" tally
