There are few things that can completely destroy humanity. Unfortunately, nuclear war is one of those things. The only other things that I can think of that could end humanity is the following: 1: Runaway global warming (becomes too hot to survive/we run out of drinkable water/we don't have enough oxygen) 2: astronomical impact that could burn all life on Earth (this includes the possibility of the sun expanding and swallowing Earth)
To those saying that nuclear war would leave survivors: These are some reasons why there would be no survivors. 1. There are enough nukes to destroy the world multiple times over. 2. It would be very hard to stop radiation penetrating a bunker (even if it was possible using lead to stop the radiation, refer to 3) 3. The leftover debris would go into the atmosphere and block out the sun for many years - probably decades. Life on the surface would be impossible because of 4. 4. A lack of sunlight will cause the whole surface of the Earth to be a frozen wasteland (and a lot colder than winter). As the decades passed... People in bunkers wouldn't be very safe from the cold unless they had centuries worth of energy saved up. 5. Maintenance of these bunkers over several decades or centuries would have to take place. Heating systems would fail eventually. I doubt that the bunker would be self-sufficient enough to manufacture its own parts to keep itself running.
All it takes is one mad man to press a button and every nuke will go off every nuclear station will go off with it the end.
Humanity when it all go wrong for us? Don't think the universe can end I could be wrong its never ending.
google it Yes it could all go back to one spot and become nothing again. Or it becomes so big that energy (mass = energy)is spreaded so thin it also becomes nothing.
I read something confused the crap out of me but basically says the most likely outcome is the big freeze.
