Reserves payment is not tax free cash... Lulz. And its 2-3 days a month plus two weeks for AT. Not to mention reserves last i heard were on a 3yr rotation but im not sure on that. If you did go NG or AR id say get an MOS that has a position for full time as you will then get BAH and BAS , BAH is based on zip code too, for ex. I knew NG couchers who got 2k a mo/ in seattle for BAH plus salary pay and worked like 8 to 3 lol. Only downside to it is you have to still go to drill, so you end up having to work 1 12-13 day week a month. Fair price to pay i would say. Not to mention any schooling you do during ADNG isnt taken from your mgib allotment
Fort drum hands down was the worst experience for me. Germany was a very close second but I actually had a lot of fun out there. Fort bliss is nice and the gut trucks were the best I have had in my travels. So the real question is how many pogs are in this thread jk jk I respect all mos/branches
Ok I was told I coould become an officer and start O-1 or what I originally wanted to be, mp, and start as E3.. advice?
My best advice is do time being enlisted first. Learn the ropes and learn what is to be the low man doing all the work. It'll give you a better perspective on how things work. Too many fresh butter bars coming in thinking they know how things operate and screw things up. My best PL was an e-6 and went and got commissioned and he ran things like a boss. Don't take advice from a recruiter they will tell you fairy tales to get you in. You want real true advice ask someone you know who served.
Well that's just a matter of perspective. It's not necessarily better nor is it not. Every person will have a different answer to that. It's all about what you enjoy personally. I won't ask your age but if you are still young then I would say go for all the stuff while you are young and capable. If I could go back to when I joined with the knowledge I have now I would have went tried for more schools. Just make sure to get whatever you can out of your time in. Enjoy the benefits and use them to your advantage. Once you get out life is a whole new ball game.
Reading all this reminded me of a guy who worked at my local walmart. He said he joined the military when he was 7 lmao.
