What do you mean it can't be just about Bernie? Yes, it can. Why do you feel the need to continually bring up somebody not related to the topic? Want to make a thread about all the candidates and the stupid stuff they say? Go ahead. BTW, the only real response to the initial topic was that he probably didn't mean it. Weak.
How come you can't answer the question? All I've gotten in response so far is he probably didn't mean it, trump is worse, and black people are oppressed. None of that justifies a completely ignorant statement made by Sanders.
Basically what I'm getting is that Bernie can say ignorant stuff, as long as someone says worse than him?
TNT, I know when I can make a thread. I can make one on any topic I want. But thanks for giving me your blessings. I really appreciate your support. Additionally, context. You can paint him to seem really crooked and evil if you don't put it into context. That might be what you're aiming for. And that's what I'm preventing. Lastly, if you want to make a thread telling me to make a thread on politicians, go right ahead. You have my blessings.
I'm not painting him to be crooked or evil. All I am asking is why is it okay for him to say this? All I've gotten so far is other people are worse. Again, weak defense. Why is it so hard to admit that he made a pretty ignorant statement?
AJ, 5 of your 8 posts on this thread have been about Trump. Most of which were about how Trump is worse.
First of all, A_Z was attacking your defense, so I am not sure why you quoted that. Second, we both know it was not incorrect wording, it was a clear, purposeful statement.
After stating what Bernie said was a poor choice of words/incorrect, do you want me to continually add that to my post? No. I moved onto the next point in the topic.
The entire thread has been you and cynder trying to defend him. Not once has anyone admitted his ignorance.
I was showing that I'm in agreeance that it was a poor choice of words and is incorrect, but, not for the extreme reasons you believe.
So you defend him saying it was just a poor choice of words, and was not intended to sound the way it did? Good to know he can say what he wants, and ignorance can be chalked up as poor wording. Good to know someone can overlook all the struggling white people, and yet he'll still be defended.
Bernie's whole campaign has been about inequality among the rich and poor, blacks and white, all races. He's trying to make things better for all. You can witness that by looking at his message. So, when I say it's a poor choice of wording, it's 9/10 is. We've all said something we thought at the time was great to say, but, looking back on it, it's wrong as ice in hell. But Bernie doesn't have a history of doing that. You caught him this one time during a debate. Where he indeed did mess up and said the wrong thing. Bernie sanders said the wrong thing. Are you happy now?
Bernie is overlooking struggling white people? Really? He is fighting for living wages FOR ALL. Affordable healthcare FOR ALL. Affordable higher education FOR ALL. Sounds a lot like what this country was supposed to be about. Liberty and justice FOR ALL remember? He is also fighting to keep social programs like welfare and food stamps (which the vast majority of recipients are white and military personnel) while Trump and others want to simply cut more funding from those programs and throw it into the military industrial complex which already over 50% of your taxes go. Unfortunately ,that military spending doesn't involve the care of veterans. Those are the social programs currently being defunded and/or cut by the republican majority senate. Again. Context matters bud.
Cynder, you keep saying context, but it's meaningless. Apparently you got the idea that this was a Bernie Sanders policy thread. At least AJ can say he messed up, you just keep talking about how he wants to help everyone. BTW, tell Bernie that the majority of welfare users are white, because apparently we don't know how it feels to be poor. Ask him, he'll tell you.
So you think he just happened to use the wrong words in a city that is going through huge racial tension? A wrong choice of words that just happened to identify with the majority of the people that were at the debate?
