That's most likely right, Dragon. Devs go where the money is. Copy pasted events obviously keep their profits up so they will continue to do so. Again though, that doesn't mean we have to simply be 'happy' with that choice. I never denied them the fact that they are a business and they need to make a profit. However I'm sure they can still make profits by trying something different? I feel they are choosing money every time over quality. The whales are happy to keep tap tapping away and spending their money. But does that make it a quality game? Does that bring in new players? Does that keep the game interesting? That's the questions devs have to ask themselves because it'll still make them money to have a quality game. Devs don't need to revamp the whole game. I don't think a different event is too much to ask. How many years and events have we gone through now, that are all exactly the same?
If you may recall few yearrs ago there was a event that everyday it had 2 ebs that had a increased drop rate maybe devs should do that again would you like that event if they did that?
That was a summer event from memory, way before they released BRs. Some ebs gave out extra gold too I think. I imagine that would be even more interesting today than it was then. So many ebs are non existent today. RIP Terrain Trevails :lol: That would at least spark some variety in the game where clans went back and did different ebs. See, it doesn't have to be a major change to spark interest.
I know!! during that events all ebs were done so you had to do ebs you normally wouldnt do and i thought it was a goood idea at the time.
I'm not sure how double the drop rate would factor in as most longer term players have the equip and event equip has made it obsolete. Perhaps they can make it 3x the gold and revamp the equip instead. Maybe a couple ebs is only available for 3-4 days with new equip and after that it switches to the next set of ebs.
Dont forget theres new players out there and some will never get these equip or do the ebs since no one runs them wouldnt that kinda event allow them to get them?
That's true. Though the frequency of events has made most of the eb equip pointless to chase. I'm not sure whether it's better or worse than the equip handed out in lower tiers in events though. Nonetheless, being able to get some decent equip at the beginning while they work on better can only help them. And at least they can experience different ebs. See, the devs don't have to do anything drastic. They just need to change things up a bit.
Yes true event equip are way better(execpt for abyssal blade) but when your smaller it tends to take a while doing events to fill all slots so having nice eb equip there would be nice and it always feel great when you get a drop lol
Agreed. And I'd say most of the ebs run by clans now don't drop equip or its very limited. A revamp of eb equip could be helpful for new players to fill up their equip slots.
Yes. Events are here to stay. We know that. So they could at least change it up a bit as they have tried to in the last couple weeks.
Yes they'll keep events. I'm not asking for them to get rid of them. But there has been the same copy and pasted events for months and months. How are they to know whether they can make even more profit if they don't try to change things up? Having one event that doesn't earn them as much as previous won't close down their business. I'm sure they can afford to try something different. The dew event and current betting event is different. That's what I'm talking about.
Think about it this way these events now is a bridge that looks soild and will be perfectly fine or choose the bridge that looks 999 years old and cant hold a fly would you take the risk and lose or go for what you knpw
Your attempt at an analogy is too extreme and does not represent what I'm trying to say and have already said multiple times. It is too drastic and as I have already said, the devs do not need to make drastic changes in the game in order for something to be considered different. How many months have we had basically the exact same event? 12? 18? Are you telling me that in that time, they haven't had the capacity to try something different? Well we already know that not to be true because they have attempted on a small scale a couple different things. Again, I understand ATA is a business and and is here to make money. I understand that their profit levels are probably what keeps them on the same copy and pasted events. But is trying something going to hurt them that much? Changing one small thing going to hurt them that much? If they're that worried about it, rather than running a new event for 2 weeks, they could run it for one week and see how it goes. Or take a poll and ask the players. How do they know whether something will make them more money if they don't try? It goes both ways. Recall the dew event, it had the same concept as every other event however it added something extra in being able to choose which equip you went after. It wasn't a drastic change but at least it was something different. It came with a paying aspect too so I doubt they lost money. The whales will always spend. And if it is worth while, so will other players who spend on an infrequent basis. Only through change will the devs improve on their game. Doing the same thing over and over again isn't always the best answer. They used to be interesting.
Both the devs and the players gain beneficial utility from this event. If the players don't like it, they are free to leave. No one can dictate the devs to do anything, literally speaking.
Just to point out that I can get over 40k without spending. I might be in the fastest eb clan in kaw but it's possible nonetheless. If you clan hop a little you can quite easily reach higher tiers however clan hopping effectively isn't always easy for the smaller players as less clans want to let in smalls towards the end of the eb.
