  1. Keep in mind that appearance isn't everything.
Before you start producing your series, make sure that you: have developed the world as much as possible, and that your characters have DEVELOPED PERSONALITIES. It's all nice and good to have a good looking character, but you have to know their personalities. If someone asked you about them, you should be able to tell them how she looks, her skills, her personality, is she charismatic, shy, etc.
That will all be necessary if you want to make a serious story that spans a few books.
Personally, I'm not the best writer myself, but logic is a strong point.
Either that, or I'm just egotistical.

  2. Developed character is not just personality.

If you want a nicely developed character, you have to consider them the sum of their experiences, key character traits, certain behaviours they tend towards, everything. How do they speak? Do they favour certain words? Do they switch dialect? How do they stand? Is their favorite colour red or burnet? Where do they live? What do they like about that? How did they get there? What are their neighbors like? How do they interact with them?

Developing a character well is very, very difficult.

  3. Also, if you're looking for a short sci-fi or fantasy story...
Don't. These short stories take around as much time as a full story does in developing the world.
This is all if you're trying to do an extremely good job. Otherwise, just write from your brain.
Thank you, Candi, for expounding on my post. :)

  4. Anyone wanna read and respond to the disciples plot?

  5. Not really...

  6. Caine, I'm really glad you've decided to write a new, post apocalyptic story. But seriously, please stop being so annoying about it. Trust me, been there, done that. Gets you a bunch of angry people chasing you down.

Excited to read the story though! 

  7. It's okay Phoenix, I'm very egotistical too:D I've given all my characters their respective personalities, created the setting, developed it VERY in depth, created the plot, have my protagonist, antagonist and supporting cast, have a timeline of events created to keep myself in line with the story I've got everything I need for the first book really. All I'm doing now is some fine-tuning now to make sure everything fits, if you can call it that. I like your name btw Phoenix because that's actually the title of my first book lol. Every story should have symbolism. I.e. in The Hunger Games the Mockingjay was used for symbolism. In my story the symbolism is with phoenixes. Why that is exactly is something you'll have to find out once my book is published ;)

  8. I'd also love to answer any questions people may have about my story, if their interested.

  9. Hour school days are best school days. :3

  10. Check out the disciples now!

  11. Last week the longest school day I had was a 4 hour day. It was great.

  12. I feel like a complete piece of **** right now.

I made my friend, who is normally a rock and has no outward emotions, cry.

    Like, sob cry.

    With two simple words.

    "I told."

  13. Damn that's good.
    Phoenix's kick ass.
By the way, this name was/is VERY hard to get. I'm just awesome, so I have it.

  14. It's not good, she hates me and her mom went full scale tableflipmode on her and she's grounded for the next two years.

  15. I think Phoenix was talking to me Dave.

  16. I despise symbolism.

I mean, when I'm reading in my free time it's ok. But when the teacher's all:

"Find the hidden symbolism in page 322 paragraph 2, sentence 7, Smight!"

    I'm all:

I DON'T NEED YOUR GARBAGE! I'LL FIND IT ON MY OWN! *flipping of tables*

  17. I have a funny story idea!!!

    The Lord
    Of The
    Marshmellows

"In order to save the world, you must travel to Mordor and roast the one marshmellow. Only with the fires of mount doom can you roast the marshmellow"

  18. That's Marshmallow*.

  19. I know, horrible typo duo
