Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] Infinite expansion is not oxymoronic. It means it will expand infinitely. Not that it is infinite and still expanding.
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] If the multi-verse theory has merit and universes r up against one another would that make our universe finite? Further could it have more energy than adjacent universes n less than others?
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] I work on the assumption that to be infinitely expanding is to be infinite.
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] Yes I think so. Although even with infinite expansion, it'll never reach an infinite size, since that'll require an infinite length of time. Damn, infinity is confusing.
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] After watching too much Dr who I began to question whether ghost sightings weren't the visualization of parallel universes.
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] That also is incorrect, in my opinion. If the universe is expanding, it isn't infinite. The only way dark matter can exist infinitely if with no mass, unless it has infinite volume, which is also impossible with a finite universe. Dark matter cannot be massless, based on it's name. Matter is anything with physical existence (takes up space) that you can see (or is tangible (touch/feel))
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] Universe, as in our "bubble", or the entire group of universes? Either way, I think this questions are unanswerable aha
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] Ahh but then we run into human limitations constrained by our own sensory inputs. You and I may agree that the glass is there on the table and is green but it may actually shoot undefined plasma type balls that exist but we can't detect.
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] true it is not infinite, but it is static and constantly expanding.
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] Plasma is a state of matter in which it actually has so much kinetic energy that it breaks the atoms of whatever it travels with/through. Human limitations may actually be holding us back, but based on what we know now, what I stated holds true (I think).
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] Well i'm no scientist but humankind has tended to jump to conclusions to explain the unknown throughout time. Later on to backtrack when the real answers r found out. Eg the earth was flat
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] Also if this is in fact the cycle the universe takes, it still leaves us with HOW THE HELL DID IT GET THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE, lol
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] Sorry I should have used a different term like couch or something to demonstrate vessel containing no scientific meaning
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] Anyhow don't solve all the mysteries without me but I need to eat #excited about geeking out
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] "infinity can only be in future, not past." How do you know time couldn't exist forever? Your mind can't comprehend the past as infinite as it's not wired to do so. We as humans need a clear beginning, middle and end. That's just how we think. It is difficult for us to imagine no starting point, but that doesn't mean there is definitely a starting point. To our knowledge the universe started at the big bang. Does this mean time started at the big bang? Yes. In our universe. That's about all we know ( although we have very detailed specifics about the actual event ) What caused it? Surely if there was no time before the big bang then it, in itself couldn't have happened. There is so much we just don't know because it's not possible to observe it but this, to me, points to a multi verse scenario which would allow time to be infinite both in the past and in the future. Try to imagine time plodding along in the past, back further and further with no starting point with a multi verse idea in mind - it's very difficult to comprehend. Truth is - we just don't know. Our only hope of finding out is the advance of A.I. Which will become very powerful very soon and on a exponential scale. It will quite literally revolutionise everything from our knowledge to how we live and so much more. Or it will kill us all terminator style
Re: The Universe is NOT Infinite [Proof] Very good question! Maybe the the Big Bang and the Bug Crunch kind of co-exist. Maybe first was the Big Bang, and everything laid out just right for the universe to rebound over and over?
