I wrote this one before, so u might have allready read it, hope u enjoy! Fear Fear is cold, colder than ice It clutches you in it's grasp It won't ever let you go How long will you hold on? Something deep inside Older than life itself Will keep you alive But you will freeze In the cold entaglements That fear hold you in Life fading, apathy engaging Hope and dreams splintering Lonely and confused Is what fear makes you It molds you like clay So afraid, for what might happen You can destroy the fear But it will grow back stronger You'll waste every last moment Trying hoplessly to untagle the fear But success is impossible For fear is everywhere
Here's mine: Fear Fear paralyzes the mind so you can't run. It terrorizes every corner so you can't hide. The horrors that await you are gruesome 'fun.' A scream will await you to make it feel you have died. Fear waits in the darkness until you stumble upon it. It will stalk you like prey until it attacks. Fear is an endless black pit. And like an ax it will hack. So when you sleep at night hold onto what is dear. And think to yourself what is your worst fear?
I like it, but it doesn't flow very well. It rhymes once at the end, which is wierd, but you've got a colorful imagination, and I admire you for that!
When the world came to an end Tommy was on the back porch Having a cigarette and enjoying the sunshine warming his skin. When the world came to an end Cindy had just finished folding laundry and she held the last towel, still warm from the dryer, up to her nose and breathed in the scent of clean. When the world came to an end they were both quite content with their lives together as close to perfect as could be hoped and their daughter was out front riding her tricycle in the yellow dress she loved to wear and the street she rode in was quiet until the red truck came and he didn't see the little girl in the yellow dress But Tommy and Cindy heard the tires and the almost fake sounding THUNK and they both remembered where their daughter was when the world came to an end.
I'd love to stay up and wait for the rest of the poems, but I'm tired! Sorry for those of you who I didn't get back to, but I'm gonna sleep!
Marian how afraid would you be if you heard squealing tires and a thunk outside your window and then remembered where your daughter had been playing?
Ok, I understand. In the beginning I thought the poem was literally going to be about the end of the world. You took this topic a different direction than I was thinking. You wrote about a time when people felt fear, unlike kimber and I who described fear itself.
Fear am I I have existed among man. In you for eons. I came to being when your hearts did. I am a creation of yours. I take any form. I can be an adversary, Then a spirit to another. I appear to you as your phobia. I am your shaking hands. Yet I am your friend's scream. And finally another one's mistake. I have many forms. I roam all around you. I can be the darkness, Yet change just as quickly to a snake, Curling around you, I look in your mind. I find all that you love, I see all that you hate, And I know what you fear. I am as delicate as a butterfly, Yet ferocious as a lion. I exist in front of you, Behind of you, And inside of you. I bring out the worst in people. I drive the most sane of people crazy. Yet, am I not essential? Do I not promote growth? I force you to be cautious. I make you careful. I keep you in line. I leave you human. I am the greatest ally, Yet the greatest foe. I am a double-edged blade. Use me to help you, But still feel the pain I bear. I expect to be paid, As I am not a mindless servant. I will give what I can, And take what I must. Giving you power is one half. Taking courage is the second half. I request a tribute, but rest assured, I pay back in double as was given. To overcome me is a great deed, Yet it may prove your downfall. You may fear nothing, But you will not hear anything. The cries and cheers are lost. In both your confidence and cowardice, Fear still rules all that is mortal. Beating me won't win the mortals. Everyone is the same, As such, they must follow rules, My rule reaches everyone, From beggars to kings, I am the true ruler, I hold people's true personalities. That is so because... I am your Fear... iZaln
Fear of fainting Fear of lightning Of ugliness And of untidiness Fear of insanity Fear of gravity Of democracy And hypocrisy Fear of being alone Fear of getting stoned Of getting hit And of eating $&@? Fears of Lebanese Fears of Japanese Of Italians And of Australians Fear is often formed irrationally But is understood internationally
The fear has crept into my soul, I do not know just what’s its goal. The fear ... it comes and steals away, All the words that I might say. It leaves me speechless; stunned in place Red hot shame covers my face. The fear will come and get you too, The fear will get the best of you. Not a man alive is immune from fear, And some will even shed a tear. Eventually it comes for us all, And leaves us feeling rather small. But the test of fear is not to run. Stand tall, don’t let it have its fun. Face it with all the strength you can. Face your fears and be a man. Because in the end the fear fades away Your actions decide if your pride will stay. So when it’s time to face your fear, Remember you’re not the only one here.
Few are those who grasp you A feeling deemed brute and primal Yet you are pure and true I believe it is time for Your revival Fear, you who I know It is time for you to show How it is you bring the good from us How you can free us as as we trust Fear is prologue to greatness Not synonym to darkness For courage is driven by fear And in the face of courage we cheer And as the fear dissipates We fail to commemorate The sutble role that it had bore Fear has a thankless chore... Had to
