After the ceremony finished, the celebrations continued and we were asked to have our portraits painted by the king’s royal artist. Each portrait took about an hour and we weren’t allowed to move. As our portraits were finished, we were let back into the courtyard and back into the festivities. As I returned, Louie and Nick meet up with me as soon as I entered the courtyard. “Great job Seth, I told you that you would be picked,” exclaimed Louie admiring my new robes. “but I can’t believe Director picked an orphan and a girl for top Generals positions, and it’s even weirder that the king accepted it! I wonder what the Lords are going to do.” “I doubt that they’ll do anything, the Director has a lot of influence with the king,” explained Nick.” So, when are you leaving?” “Well, actually I’m leaving tonight,” I told them. They both stared at me in shock. “Tonight! Why didn’t you tell us that before?” yelled Louie. “I just got back here”, I explained to a furious Louie and a gaping Nick. “Now, can you guys help me pack or are you just going to stare?” ******************************************************************************************************************* Just before sunset, the three other generals, Clamp and I left for Castle Nox.
Fourth Chapter part two Castle Nox was two days away by horse. I was given a black horse named Pluto and according to the stable master he could hold a fast trot for an entire day. Once everyone was ready, we set off. I had ridden a horse only a few times before when I had ridden around inside the castle walls, but riding along the highway was completely different. It was much quieter and more peaceful. I found myself relaxing the first time all week, despite the looming fact that I was going tomeet the king then go off to war. We soon reached the first town, Castel Arkwood. Arkwood wasn’t really a castle as much as a fort, it was made up of wood columns and small huts. As we rode through, every soldier we met saluted Clamp. I started to wonder what Clamp did before his career at the academy. When we continued our journey on the other side of Arkwood, I asked him. “Clamp what did you do before you started working at the academy?” Clamp looked at me and then stopped his horse to look around at us. “I was a general,” he replied simply. “Then why haven’t we ever heard about you in history class? We had to learn every general in the past 20 years,” said Barton. “Oh, you’ve probably heard of me. My name is actually Michal Cample, Southern General in the last war of Cornish.
Fifth Chapter “General Cample! You’re the guy who won lead the final charge against at the siege of Demart Castle. It was under siege for six months and the day you were appointed as general, your charge took over the castle with hardly any casualties,” Exclaimed Barton. “So, why aren’t you a general anymore?” “I am,” said Cample. “I was just at the academy as a place where I could be safe for a while from Cornish spies. The reason I am escorting you is because King Brenton needs to reappoint me as general. Also, a large party of soldiers like us may attract some unwanted attention.” Even I had to agree to that, the highways were unsafe at the best of times. Satisfied with his answer we continued on riding. We were only a few hours out of Arkwood when the saddle started to take a toll on me. Its stiff decretive leather and fancy rivets might make it look nice but were a huge pain when one had to ride it for more than a few hours. When I commented on this, Jane, being an expert at horse riding (Compared to me), said that our trip wasn’t really classified as long-distance, our ride from Nox to the northern army base would be utter torture to me. As the day started to approach its end, Cample explained were we would be staying. “The plan is to make it to Tantar by the end of the night. And by tomorrow, we will be within the walls of Nox,” explained Cample. “Not likely,” sad a voice from the trees. Before we could pull out our weapons, we were surrounded by bandits. The man, who seemed to be their leader, emerged from the trees. He definitely looked like the kind of guy you wouldn’t mess with. In the approaching dark, his dark plated armor was hardly visible and his blood-red sword made him look like a dark lord of the highway. And as he took off his helmet, Cample almost fell off his horse. “Ahhhh… My men, be courteous. You are in the presence of royalty,” The bandit lord said as he came down from his horse. It took me a moment to understand what he said because of his thick Casconian accent. “Cample, I haven’t seen you in ages.” “I...I thought you were dead!”stuttered Cample. “Cample, I’m disappointed, your manners haven’t improved at all. Is that how you treat everyone you meet?” “Wait, Cample, how do you know this guy?” I asked him. The thief lord looked as if he noticed us for the first time. “Oh, please forgive me, I haven’t introduced myself. I am Isaac Haze.” He paused and looked at our awestruck faces, “Yes, Im the High General of Casco.”
If you're highlighting the entire chapter lime green; I'm going to spare my eyes the strain and not read the story.
Lime green... Unicorns are all for white, and line green makes me squint to see. Bye bye now! Oh and, Paragraphs please* (Galloping)
Issac and his band of thieves decided to bring us back to their camp, either to use us as spies or hostages. About then is when I noticed that Demitri and his horse were missing. Knowing better than to tell Cample about this and give away our advantage I stayed silent. I quietly pondered on the best things that Demitri could do to help us. Odds are that as good as Demitri was at being stealthy, he would never be able to get us out of their camp undetected. The best choice for Demitri would be to follow us to find the camp location, then go get help from either Tantar or Nox. Either way it would take a while for him to get there and convince the King or Governor of his story and then get back. About three or four days we would have to spend in the camp. That is if we survived that long. ***************************************************** Post on my wall if i should contine otherwise im giving up
