Strip/steal is toast. Devs changed how steals work!!!

  1. Doesn't this effectively eliminate the one bonus to being a pure spy? There is no quests for them and now their only real role is to assissinate troops in time if war. Doesn't seem like an equitable move.

  2. Troop builds are more fun anyway. I tried spy, not my style.

  3. I think the key element that made this necessary is the proliferation of alts. Many players carry 5 plus alts now with at least 3 strong spies. It's just not tge same game. Almost as if your "kingdom" encompassed all your accts, giving an unprecidented power to aggressive players for stripping purposes.

Personally I like the changes and I have to say tge devs have been unusually open with their black box secrets in this thread.

    Kudos to u.

  4. What this thread makes clear is tge line between those playing for fun and those who define fun as destroying others. To the latter I can only say stop your whining and go find some new way to hurt people.

    Bah.

  5. If it's really about enjoyment then why not increase the playability for everyone. On top of no quests spies only have one level of building. This is just taking more away from a group that didn't have much to begin with.

  6. Exactly,

    it doesnt make sense.

They are beating a dead horse even more.

I would of expecte to see some improvemeny to spies, rather then more hinderment....

    Its sad

  7. Guys, like I was too stubborn to see before, if ur down to 25% spies u lose the same amount as u used to.

  8. Question,

Spies don't have T2s..darn but honestly, they kick hiney as it is. T2s would be vastly overpowered and would require T1 nerfes with the T2 cut so it would be proportional to troop builds. The only alturnative is if they nerf T1 Guilds early so that T2s would be as strong as pre-first-nerf-ever T1 Lvl3s at lvl2 or so...

    Spy Quests:
Hmmm, I'm sneaky sneaky, I'll sabotoge supply lines and raid the enemy by assassinating them early and wiping out villages as well as stealing..oh wait, troop quests already do those things, darn.

Seriously, spies are a SUPPORT unit. The STEALING is a bonus, the SCOUTING is for troop builds and the ASSASSINATING is for assissting troop builds odds or for crippling an enemy, but not nearly as well as troops because it's a SUPPORT unit...anyone who expects ninja abilities at open brute strength power is insane...

Oh yeah, question(pardon above rant wasn't intensional),

Spy Farms have been 'nerfed'. Hmm. So in other words you won't be getting more land any time soon. Hmm. Price you pay for being a farm. If you are an alt user, now you have to be active more to stay open, hold on, wait I have to participate as if I were a troop build? Seems a silly thing to say...

Anywho, spies can steal endlessly. Most steal from 1-2 farms that never run dry for eternal enourmous reward. Troop builds can't. So I guess my question is, do you guys want T2 spys and if so are you prepared for the price?

The other is : Do you want it to be unable to steal below 0 gold so you have to steal actives?
    Separate questions that need answering..

  9. Cor---

There are players with endless money?

    What?

  10. This isa great thread

Spies add dynamic to the game!

The only reason I changed from a
full spy to mix to beast build was
    to make leaderboard.

Nobody is truly successful without spies.
As we create loop holes and it's best
not to post them so it's less likely to be nerfed(atleast for awhile)

Now that we have this knowledge,
people should have to plan way better!

One thing that I didn't notice metioned
is the amount of gold loss by spy steals or is attacking someone still result in less cash loss? Or both?

  11. Attacking Makes The Defender lose more money per hit.

  12. BoomBoom, I have never paid much attention to how much you lose to an attack, rather than a steal, because attack-based stripping isn't anything to put much worry into, for reasons already mentioned i.e. your troops put you "too weak" when pinned and make mass attacking impossible -- to put it another way, you can be stolen from 1000 times in an hour (if you either 1-have gold out or 2-have even a single guild) but it is impossible to be attacked 1000 times in an hour. 18 attacks will put you too weak, and regen is slow enough, etc etc.

And Cor, just as a clarification, in case people are interested to know how the steal rules work (as I've observed them over the past months)... If you have 0 guilds, then you can only be stolen from if you have cash out, period. This is a change the devs made to negate the LordDroopy style spy farm. If you have even 1 guild, then it works like this... If you have gold out, you can be stolen from by anyone who can steal you UNLESS your troops are pinned, in which case you can only be stolen from by players who have very weak spy power (say, one guild). Having 0 gold out has a similar effect, though slightly different, to having your troops pinned. I'm not sure if it's based solely on spy power or on a total stats comparison, almost positive it's a total stats thing, but a weaker player can always steal a stronger player even if they have $0; however, a similarly-sized player or stronger player cannot steal you if you have $0. It's the premise behind the modern spy farm. It's also why the newsfeed message "blahblah killed your spies while attempting to steal from you" and "you lost $0 gold" exist.

Sorry I don't have a better or more definitive description of exactly the stats math behind it, but I don't care enough about that particular detail to put the time into testing it fully.

OSF's still work. Keep your spies as close to 20% as possible and you still keep paying a ton of hits worth. And OMG, you're stealing $0 from a farm, translating it into $25m of vapor money in your spy, and paying out what can amount to hundreds of millions of dollars to those who attack your OSF. That's not enough for you? WTH?!?

If you want to steal someone's money away, you STILL CAN, it's just not super super super easy like it was before. Good. I'm going to be doing it soon enough, dealing with a months-long serial farmer of my clan's OSF, so I'll let you all know 1) how much in allies we bought, 2) how many successful steals we logged, and 3) how much did the ally cost that he bought when he came back on. I don't wanna do it, but he's just wayyyy over the line.

  13. Necro, if the defender is at 0 gold they can still be stolen from if they have a guild, infinitely.

Spies still get same per steal but defender loses less per steal.

Attackers gain the same money with troops but the defender loses a really tiny % more to make OSFs and mainly alt accounts steal more from infinite farms or whoever and thus nerf the effects of those with alt accounts as farms. OSFs that are active will merely have to steal more.

  14. Woops ignore that second bit, hadn't tested and it's false, just a rumor.

  15. Stupid changes

  16. In reply to "we are doing this simply to protect the LB". Ummm, no, we're not. We are doing this so that people can't abuse spies (before, one guy with 20 crystals could completely strip a guy in under an hour). As mentioned before, LB will now take into account steals and assassinates as well (we have been tracking all the stats). Wait until the LB's are updated tomorrow. You should see some shuffling, and if spies are really concerned that LB's

  17. KaW,

    Can You Please Explain Why?

Why Make These Changes? Im sure that the number of spies that could completely strip someone are low....and couldnt be high enough to justify a change.

  18. Lmao. Devs.

You know people with full t3s and allies are too strong to steal from?
