The reason that spy strip/steal was so effective was because they could steal indefinitely with no retaliation. In the case of an attack strip attempt, a spy guild can simply assassinate all his units.
The increased spy losses in attack could be an unintended consequence and not something done by design I guess. When u have billions out in a OSF tweaking attack the attack loss by a small % can add up.
Dev do u know what osf is?? No matter what you have said I'm certain I am loosimg AT LEAST triple the amount I was two days ago, I think even yesterday! I am a pure spy and I used to lose 250k max a hit now it's AT LEAST 600k... Want screenshots guys? Not trying to be a pain justtrying o help the game. That's what osf's do.
TPH, we took at the losses you're talking about and compared the player between today and yesterday (when you saw the difference). His power did have a significant change over this time (power includes clan members, buildings, items used in battle, etc.) and definitely explains what happened (in conjunction with your unit counts at the time of each attack). ALSO, losses depend on your current unit strength (another *hint*).
PS: Fully open farms ABUSE is frowned upon (which is why we placed certain rules in the first place). Basically, massive inflation was being introduced by certain abusers. (Not pointing to OSF, we're talking about non-OSF players). That being said with the changes, if open farms have money out, they will lose less per hit. At a certain point, it becomes based on current unit strength rather than gold available. Due to the decrease in the fixed percentage, that crossover point happened sooner, which is why some players may have seen a change in losses. This crossover point has been adjusted slightly to account for the side effect of lowering overall losses. All in all, people will be losing LESS gold over a long period of time. However, this would not lead to a 2-3x change in losses. We get that feedback all the time (even before any of these changes) and what it ends up being is that: 1. The unit strength the defender had was different at the time of attacks 2. The attacker or defender had a significant power change (i.e. buildings or allies)
Yeah, well lizzziepoo isn't in my clan, and she didn't triple her stats. Like I said before I take this personally. And don't worry devs, I know you couldn't give a **** less how I feel. I was trying to help people, I didn't know it was frowned upon. I wish you told me before I gave away all that gold now I can't switch back. Thanks guys. You made a great game I just wish you told me I was doing wrong. Enjoy the money I spent on propacks.
No, she didn't triple her stats. However, your unit count when she attacked you yesterday vs. today was different, and like we mentioned, that has always had a significant impact on your losses.
And note, we mistyped when we said open farms are frowned upon. Open farm ABUSE (we're NOT talking about OSF here) is frowned upon (i.e. multiple account spy build farms, etc.)
Kaw_admin you have put in a lot of good and useful information. It might be beneficially for kaw if u took all that information and posted it in the news forum. Right now it is in a Q&A format and is difficult to follow.
Oh snap, KaW Admin has given out a pretty important piece of information, that being, the rate that money is lost when you get attacked is based on your *current* troop power (specifcally interested in spies here). So if you're acting as an OSF for example, and you want to pay out over a longer period of time, you need to keep your spies as close to 20% as you can. Your current spy power determines how much money you lose per attack, as a pure spy. The attacker gets paid the same regardless of what you lose. I learned that months ago when I used to be 23 guilds and 1 lightning tower, a super OSF that paid max plunder to larger attackers. It's not a new thing, it's been that way for months that I'm aware of. And if you're not happy being a spy, then don't be pure spy. Tear down one of your guilds and put up a factory. And then put your next $3b into buying allies, and bam, you're an attack build at max plunder. It's really very easy to switch from spy to attack, though easier to switch from attack to spy. Personally I like being good at both, hence my current build.
This change is going to make it next to impossible for not only myself, but other players to stay OSF. It will now require that we put out double what we normally would in order to compensate for the increase in money loss per attack. Correct me if im wrong, btw. My biggest question in all of this is, why? I remember sending feedback to you guys 2 days ago, and you said you hadnt touched the game engine in forever. And now we have a this......what happened to cause this change? And Why change it?
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say people on the LB are the most likely to have and keep spending $$ on this game, so why would the admins want theese people stripped possibly driving them to quit and cease being a source of income for them. Kaw admins are simply protecting there future income and letting the game grow stagnant, if my wallet was getting fat I wouldn't care either. As Assassin so aptly put, spy builds are getting more useless. So let's just all do the same exact thing and have a massive circle jerk...
It seems daft to me that we have to now increase attacks against someone to steal the "gold" basically if a player should want to protect themselves they should buy a tower that's what they are there for, if they want to really protecttheor gold buy 3 towers it's not a hard concept to understand. By doing this the devs have basically made spy guilds assassins elsewhere they are useless for wars. They can't spy for anyone else so to spy would be stupid unless against another sin build, it's hard enought to steal from lber due to allies bonus and pots and there's no point assassinating if you can only kill half the troops off. Well done devs I suppose your putting our mouthwhere the money is. Assassin. Very disappointed will attack any and all now
