I would love to say I am shocked that people are resorting to comparing gays to sexual predators. But I'm not. It's a totally different matter. One argument is between consenting adults. When it is legally allowed. The other is about the abuse and sexual assault of innocent children. That will never be and should always be completely beyond question for any civilised society. The fact that people resort to using such an argument just shows how desperate they are to force their belief on others.
Now before everyone bites my head off, this is a legitimate question and I'm not having a go. I've seen lots of arguments here before for and against whether sexuality is a choice or it is who we are. As a heterosexual, do you wake up one day and decide to be straight? Is it a conscious decision? Did you think on a particular day and consider all sexualities, and decide on being straight? Or have you only ever been attracted to the opposite gender so that is what you act on? Just curious on your thoughts
Except you just pointed out the differences. Minors have age based restrictions in many aspects of life, and there are numerous considerations of things they can and cannot do. Homosexuals were discriminated against solely for their predisposition alone, just like skin color. When minors grow up, they will enjoy full rights as an adult. Discrimination based on race or orientation doesn't end. Completely different. Which is why a talk on age restrictions is irrelevant to a discussion on hetero and homosexuality.
^ Either way, the bible is irrelevant when it comes to politics. I don't care what the bible, or any other religion says about homosexuality. It also condemns tattoos, contraception, gender equality, and piercings. Yet we don't let that rule our lives.
So it's only discrimination if it happens on a large scale? ..a single employer abusing the civil rights of just one employee isn't discrimination? ...like I said the numbers aren't there for widespread reverse abuse BUT I've absolutely seen it happen and in more then one situation ...and it wasn't bullying it was straight up discrimination/bigotry (violating housing rights & employment rights)
Really? Gay people managed to get laws enacted to deny straight people the right to buy homes and adopt babies and such, based solely because they're straight? Do you have a Westlaw or Lexus-Nexus cite for that? I'd love to see it! I've never heard of something like that before! Or maybe you were just making fake comparisons.
