ya i also like ta pick and choose which parts ta follow and which to ignore when i rely on something to justify myself (giggle)
Okay bacon, then give me a clear answer here. Definition of homosexual = Being attracted to somebody of the same sex. The definition does not say you have to be romantic, or to anything physical. It is ATTRACTION ONLY. My question is, how do you chose who you are attracted to? Not who you sleep with. ATTRACTED TO,
Guess what Bacon, I didn't accuse you of anything. I'm just pointing out your argument that bigotry against gays is different than racism, is wrong. The fact that people recognize that, and appropriately respond when people make offensive comments, is not discriminating against straight people. That is calling people out on their (despicable) actions, and not on their predispositions.
Here's an interesting question. If a paedophile is attracted to children, but does not sleep with them, am I a bigot if I say that their attraction is wrong?
crimes against children do not fall under the same category as attraction between two consenting adults stop bringing that universally hated type of behaviour and applying it here
I am a firm believer that attractions are not controllable. Unfortunately for the adult, they were born with an attraction that is illegal, so they must stay within the confines of the law, and what is socially acceptable. For instance, it would not be illegal for that person to be a kindergarden teacher, but would be inappropriate to say, because he can hold their hands. As long as that person did not break the law or do anything legal yet still inappropriate, then I would say having a bad opinion of them solely for their attraction would be wrong.
you want to support that type of behaviour go right ahead... if you happen to have kids my prayers are with them
No. It is a crime to act upon it, in a way that may cause harm to said child. It IS a relevant argument in the case of wether attraction is a choice.
You are always allowed to think what you will, and you can express what you will. In the case of pedophilia (the above), most will agree that acting on those urges is wrong. Fortunately pedophilia it is illegal and involves a person who is too young to legally consent, which makes it irrelevant to a conversation about hetero or homosexuality. But if you want to discuss that, or anything else that you like to think about, you have every right. Edited due to the filter.
just a side point I love how everyone using the p word bypasses the filter and don't get silenced or temp forum banned lol
TNT, maybe in today's era acting upon on attraction towards children is illegal, but like in the case of homosexuality, there is precedent that we are slowly morally eroding and becoming liberal. What is considered taboo now, might not be in the near future. Atleast the way we're going. So just maybe, being attracted to children and acting upon that attraction is going to be accepted in society the same way we accept people with various orientations than the norm.
