Yeah, this isn't about nine-eleven so stop talking about it; it's completely irrelevant. I'll be visiting the poppy garden in London, myself.
It's nothing to do with September 11th 2001. Remembrance Sunday is about honouring the dead of two world wars, the dead of the conflicts that have followed. As I stated before it's based of the date of the armistice which marked the end of combat in World War 1. The nearest Sunday to the 11th of November is called Remembrance Sunday. There are ceremonies held at the Cenotaph in London and at other memorials across the country. This year there have been poppies surrounding the Tower of London as it's 100 years since the start of the " war to end all wars"
I would like to apologize on behalf of those on this thread who don't understand that the world is bigger than our country.
@Crack it's not about September the 11th (9/11 to the USA) It's about the Remembrance Sunday the British and some other countries use to mark their war dead from two world wars and other conflicts from the last century. This year is somewhat more poignant as it's the 100th anniversary since the start of world war1. The ceremony has been held since 1919 it's tone and nature has changed over the years reflecting the changing nature of the country.
OKAY I'M RAGING IF YOU GOD DAMMIT IDIOTS DON'T KNOW WHAT 11/11 @11am IS AND YOU THINK IT'S ALL ABOUT THE "TWIN TOWERS OR BERLIN BRIDGE" PLEASE JUST LEAVE. YOU OBVIOUSLY NEED TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL. /rage 11th of November @ 11 am This is when we have a minute silence followed by the National anthem & Last post, to remember and commemorate our past and present tropps who have sacrificed their lives for the life we live today. This year is remarkably special as its the 100th Anniversary since WWI. Sorry but all you idiots don't realize how important this day and ANZAC Day is to people including myself.
This has nothing to do with 9/11, this is 11/11 our remembrance day. At the 11th hour we will have a minute silence pay respect for those ANZAC'S who have fallen defending our country. If you don't understand, then don't comment.
November 11th 2014 armistice day November 9th 2014 Remembrance Sunday Two different days focused on the same things
