Refugee crisis

  1. It's been a couple of weeks as the nature of the crisis has changed.

Recently some European nations began restoring border controls, while Hungary has closed it's border with Serbia.

One of those border checkpoints saw some ugly scenes earlier when groups attempted to break through the barriers.

Meanwhile as much of the media attention is on the thousands of refugees in Europe the vast majority of the refugees are huddled in makeshift camps in the Middle East.

  2. if they are smart they go via bosnia.

  3. Aside from the minefields left over from the Balkans conflicts.
Smarter to walk to Romania and then back round into Hungary

  4. those mine fields are only a problem to the first people.

  5. U.S. Central Command, Gen. Lloyd Austin III testified today on Capitol Hill, Senate Armed Services Committee.

He said the program to train Syrian Fighters only resulted in "5 fighters" currently active. Est cost $41 million(usd)??

    It's suppose to be a $500 million(usd) 5,400 fighters program.

Whistleblowers claim CentCom has been altering progress reports.

"Indeed, this committee is disturbed by recent whistleblower allegations that officials at Central Command skewed intelligence assessments to paint an overly-positive picture of conditions on the ground," Sen. J. McCain

The General said all whistleblowers will be protected, and those responsible will be held accountable.

  6. Support. Those fields must be cleaned anyway. Perfect chance for these guys to prove they can be useful for Europe.

  7. Crack if you feel all soldiers are meant to die then you sir are an idiot. As for these refugees people need to learn to defend themselves, if they opposed and refused to bow to these terrorist organizations refused them shelter and safe passage and instead killed them they wouldn't need to flee.

  8. well, if anyone has to die in a country it should be a soldier. i mean, it is kinda their job.

  9. It's very easy to say that the refugees need to fight back to reclaim their own lands.
Though they may have had an opportunity earlier in the conflict.

That is far from today's scenario.
A 100,000 Isis strong army that is heavily armed ( for region ) is not am easy task to overthrow.
With all the basics from ak47's through to captured tanks and mobile gun platforms, they represent a very potent threat to the civilians.

18-30 males are recruited or executed if they refuse recruitment.
Women suffer worse fates that breach tou to mention.

Children forced into service from very young age.

This is not a mere militia uprising now.
It is a heavily armed conflict and the refugees have three options.

    Sign up with Isis
    Flee
    Or die.

For some funny reason most of them do not choose options 2 or 3.

Saying they should defend themselves at this stage is unrealistic.
They need a combined response force from multiple nations to be utilised to aid them in reclaiming their land.

We cannot cope with them all in Europe. That much has been proven.
But they do need help desperately.
At home. Where they want to live.
In peace in their own lands.
Until the world acts to end the threat that will only continue to spread and grow.
They have no choice but to flee.
The global community needs to send a clear message. Global terror of any type will not be tolerated.

Giving people a place to run to while terror groups flourish is not an acceptable answer.

  10. Crack. Sign up and serve.
If you aren't willing to make that commitment to your nation, you have no right to demand a soldier dies to protect you.

  11. they chose to become a soldier, thus they chose to die if needed, it is not that hard to grasp. And i dont demand it, i think it is law which demands it.

  13. No soldiers sign up to make a better life for themselves and their families. They sign up to ensure your ***** ass don't become a refuge at the hands of people like isis. They don't sign up with the intent to die that's a nice thought tho I assume you also believe no one having guns makes the world safer.

  14. Those silly people.
You go under or around barbed wire.
    Not over or through.
    Silly people.

  15. Hungarian /Serbia border now closed, Croatia will be swamped now, EU committees are now arguing because none of the EU nations want the migrants, Germany is full, and the one thing being batted around European media? The EU was and is designed for Europeans always has been, it's not designed for millions of non EU economic migrants and counterfeit cigercigarette sellers and definitely not designed for people who purposefully destroy there own ID to escape traceability because they are not genuine asylum seekers.

  16. I seriously hope you're not actually deluded enough to believe more guns = safer world?

  17. @ crack first off. Soldiers are prepared to die for their nation.
But no soldier signs with the intent of dying.
They serve to try and make a real difference to the world.
An ideal that peace must be maintained using force where appropriate. And that even jack asses like you deserve protection.

And what you fail to grasp is what you are expecting others to do for you.

So as I said. Go and serve. Learn about what you demand from others.
And yes when you said its better for a soldier to die. You demand their death over that of a civilian.
It may well be what we signed up for. But you don't get to say our lives are worth less than others.
That's a choice every soldier makes personally believing they can help even if only in a small way to bring stability to their home nation.

Rio. Wars have existed long before guns became involved.
I am personally anti gun in civilian life.
But a strong capable armed force to deal with threats such as Isis is essential.
Bigger sticks have always been a goal of any past military endeavour.

  18. I happen to agree with you. However I disagree with someone basically saying that more guns means a safer world. It's a lot harder an takes a lot more willpower to physically stab / cut someone down with a sword than it does to pull a trigger.

  19. Go make a thread about guns if you want to talk about guns. This thread is about Syrian Refugees. Thank you.
