The events didn't ruin wars, those who chose to abuse them did. Participation went down, and matchups got worse because 1) there were fewer clans to match and 2) many of those who were still in the matchup pool were testing the fences like bloody velociraptors. Of course we're not going to give the best equipment/rewards in the game to those who've found the best exploits. That spawned indie wars, which do a lot better to match players but unfortunately don't allow clans to play together. They do require skill and teamwork to win, but without having control over your teammates, there's a decent amount of luck in there too. We want clan wars to be more popular, and we're working it internally. Keep in mind, from our perspective, we want to create content for you guys. The best way to get the most stuff to the most people has been through events recently, because they have the most reach. Then it was to implement a way for battle list PVPers to get in on it. Now we want to make wars accessible and fair. We tried PVP only events, but there were a couple of issues that we've tried to address with the new weekend format. One is that everyone complained that PVP is too exhausting to do for more than a couple of days. The other is that a fraction of our entire community opts in to PVP events. That means that when we do PVP only events, there are a lot of players that are left by the wayside. If more people jumped into the PVP weekends then we could look at doing more battle list only events.
No need to get feisty. I was going to give you a waffle but I don't think you deserve it until you say you really want it.
Want to increase war participation? Let wars during events drop same amount of event items as during s5 then. You also say that pvp events only benefit a fraction of players while rest can't compete. Same with these events. Those that do HTE get lb spots, everyone else falls behind. The original idea of these events was to reward activity, however they just promote spending
Oh so you don't want a snoopy waffle? Oh yeah and btw I love you and this game and your events. On behalf of KaW and all the ungrateful saps who play it, sowwy. We willy wub u ohk? Here's a waffle for all your trouble. #
I didn't say that pvp events only benefit a fraction of the players, I said that only a fraction of players choose to participate in them. A massive portion of the community participates and is rewarded for event participation. Do all of them get the best rewards? Of course not. That'd be dumb. S5 war drops were insane to keep S5 participation up, but like I said, there's a lot of random in those indie wars. Ideally, I'd love to drop more from clan wars. They just need some tlc first.
KC, You have a go at the players for exploiting wars and that is a fair point. But when the war community came together to try and fix things in the form of draft wars, your matching system let us down and matched 2 clans completely different sizes when their were clans with same stats and same distribution of stats signed up and the Devs provided no reply as to why this happened. That's on you. We as players can only do so much
That makes sense. I took a break from kaw since I had become to addicted to spending nobility points  . Guess I missed that event. Anyhow, will the weekend pvp become a regular thing. (Answer yes or your fired) Spoilers: Xx-Ian-xX = Spragga = Head of athinkingape
