Protein supplements after a workout.

  1. Don't take artificial sweeteners. They muddle up your appetite and hormones. Avoid sugar when you can but avoid sweeteners as well as they can mess up your natural cycle. A little is needed as a carb anyway
     
  2. After a long hard workout I Make a smoothie with whey vanilla protein powder with frozen blueberries, strawberries, and peanut butter. Seems to give me great results.
     
  3. How is yall feeling about pre workout stuff I'm thinking about getting some but not sure
     
  4. You can use my recipe above for a pre workout too! Just make sure you wait at least 30minutes before working out to prevent cramps
     
  5. Mixing your own ingredients is best, but if you're not comfortable with that there's plenty of brands to pick from. Most of them are the same ingredients, just different portions. Jym-pre is one of the better ones in my opinion though. No proprietary blend, and no 5 gram "super concentrated" crap.

  8. I like what tnt said. Make your own. Coffee is reasonable pre as it stimulates cns for strength and encourages lipid oxidation for aerobic activity. BCAA's have a good glycogen sparing effect, and positive results on RPE, so i take them pre too.

    Most other things in pre workouts are:
    1) garbage
    2) not in high enough doses to be useful or,
    3) better consumed post as your body is more prepared to absorb them.

  10. I'm glad someone mentioned this. At my present 193 lbs, I couldn't imagine myself eating almost 300g of protien a day. Lol

  12. I take that in a day. I use 20-30 usually before and after a workout and I eat protein snacks in between my cardio and lifting workout switch.

  14. When I was doing 2 workouts a day I was taking 400-475 grams of protein powder a day excluding my meals probably not the healthiest thing to do

  17. Muscle milk is trash. Try to use a protein to suit your needs, there is lean muscle builder, bulk gain, mass gain, toning protiens. Just make sure to use them with the right workouts
