Or we could just be sensible individuals who run out of ideas sometimes and don't spam threads of little to no quality? Couldn't this like system be abused? Say you make a lot of enemies or you're a forumer who disses kotfe so they get all kotfe clans to dislike you or maybe even apoc because you give them a lot of forum hate. What then?
Lol! Again that "phpBB own forums" nonsense? Its same like saying ATA's website is owned by HTML. And yes...even if my first post was cheeky/trollish this is a doable idea. All requested features in OP are perfectly (and easily) doable within phpBB code.
There is no dislike button. Only a like button. Or an unlike button if you no longer like a forumer that you had previously liked
Just an example of what can be done on phpBB. A ranking system can be set in place. Also as can be seen in screenshot a "thanks" system can be in place. Is really not hard to establish where and how often a user can post according with his rank and "thanks meter".
Interesting. I wasn't aware that that system was in place on another forum. But it goes to show that this is a viable premise
It's xda-developers forum. Based on phpBB aswell. A newcomer can post only on General Discussions sections. Can start a new thread only in Questions and Troubleshooting sections but he can't post. No way to post on Development sections. Also first 10 posts there's a 10 minutes delay between posts. 5 minutes for next 20. So yes...phpBB offer plenty of tools to "police" forums.
I dont feel like any of this is necessary, and would limit the individuality of people posting, it is already within mods powers to lock threads deemed unworthy.
I try to post good quality threads but no one likes me.   Seriously though, why don't you all like me? Okay I have no more tears to spare. I'm not sure if I support this thread bro, in the good ol' days when we wouldn't have needed it I would have had more reason to support it because I knew more of the forumers and there was a trustworthy and good core, these days however there are lots of people new to forums, lots of trolls, fail trolls and flamers. To add to this, how many people post more than one thread a week anyway? The thing we really need to get rid of is people who quote OPs and the mods who get forum modding wrong. I know it would technically limit spammy threads but I don't think those are much of a problem at the moment anyway.
Interesting, I hardly use the app anyway. I might eventually when I decide to get into the modding side of android.
Modding is fun and a good way to learn. Once you build a compiling machine and start building your own roms the real fun will start.
