Maybe bump the power supply but otherwise it looks tasty. Won't have any problems with stable (not Alpha) games in 1080P. 4K might be a little choppy if you push it but VR should run nicely.
Don't over clock unless you really need too. Even if you know how try not to do it, tweak other things but keep stock speeds.

There wasn't. AMD was the only one producing x64 chips. After that it was multicore CPUs.

Zen better deliver, or its game over for AMD on the cpu market.

Cooler Master is also a good choice.

    Tldr sorry

  4. Re: PC Enthusiasts some assistance

    ^Huh, there was a tl;dr lol

YEAH RIGHT, 3 TITAN X'S, A CRAPTON OF RAM AND an overkill motherboard and that better not be a i7 5000 series T_T

It looks more like a giveaway.

That's excluding a lot of other parts btw.

VR is not a focus especially when all the offerings are so... Strange

  5. Re: PC Enthusiasts some assistance

You mean the currently offered VR games? Yeah, limited. Very.
I haven't looked into VR further than a YouTube video of a girl tidal waving her panties over a VR zombie game. Anyone know if regular popular games will end up including VR, like DayZ?

ESXI is free. You need to pick your hypervisor on business need. There are very few things that VMware does as a hypervisor that hyper-v doesn't as of 2012r2. 2016 will continue the blurring of the lines

Now take into account SDN/SDS (software defined networking and software defined storage) as of today VMware has offerings Microsoft does not have natively. Everything in VMware comes with extra costs.

Vsan from VMware is a SDS that you could use tons of other vendors like nutanix.

Seems like a good build. If you are gaming on a pic remember peripherals are extremely important. The mouse and headset are especially important if you want to play more shooters. The headset(with surround sound) to hear where the enemy is coming from. The mouse with adjustable dpi on the fly for sniping. Adjustable dpi is also very useful in general.

Experience: built a pc last Christmas

  13. Re: PC Enthusiasts some assistance

I'm not going to be doing much hardcore gaming (online, competitive games) my int. conn. now is too crappy lol.

Mainly singleplayer, some online with friends etc.

Yeah, I'm thinking about a ttesport mouse or maybe the razer chroma mouse thing.

    And a good mechanical keyboard.

    Any suggestions?

I have my old wireless sony 5.1 surround sound headset but I might opt for a wired one since it may get interference.

Adjustable dpi? That's a new one. I'll look into it.

    Thanks for the advice :)

    who's gabe?

But yes, I'll probs be on that platform.

    Whoops lol.

Yeah, I'm thinking about a deepcool tesseract sw case
Pretty sure it's a mid tower, made of metal and plastic.
2 front usb ports 1 3.0 and other is 2.0

    YEAH.

    Picture pending

I was going to go coolermaster but nah

Vmware is such a pain though, I mean why am I having to use to two hypervisors?

Oh well, I'll see what I can do about vmware.

    Might consult my mentor sometime.

    Thanks again.

^If you really do plan on overclocking, I'd suggest a Z170 board and maybe a liquid cooler.
You don't really need to go overboard with ram speeds but it's not bad.
120gb ssd should do fine but you might want to consider a hdd.
The 970 is great but for a little extra cash you could get a current gen gpu i.e. GTX 1060 which my friends essentially FORCED me to get.
I hear the s340 (case) is good just scratches easy and I think it doesnt have an odd slot.
    A gold psu :0

Other than what I mentioned, looks pretty good.
