OSW Discussion

  1. Most osw clans or clans that osw were eb fairies at some point. Our first osw we were the same, and an osw clan looking for an easy win hit into us, lol didn't turn out so well for them...IMO osw at least in the past brought clans together (even eb noobs) and when you cut the dead weight, and only the strong and loyal were left, then you knew and proved you were a bad ass clan, and would stick together no matter the enemy.

  2. Battalion.....always speaking the truth. Way to go big stuff

  3. would be good if there was some way to track pvp participation in osw. To underwrite that whole eb thang. Would be fun for the spectators too.

  4. Resilience, all of them were born by the sword, and will die by the sword. Ain't let anybody new in to perm, toughest people out, don't trash talk as much as the rest, key part in most OSW wins. Also massive sizes who will keep excelling in the game. Respect 100%.

  5. I liked the system better when it was just a few dozen players in a clan fighting in a war, and then maybe a couple allied clans helping out. It was more personal and each member had a role to play. I don't like the idea of such large alliances because each member as an individual contributes very little and strips are executed at such a rate that once targeted, you stand very little chance.

HTE also provides a "pay to win" OSW system where the clan with deeper pockets will be able to muster up more strip funds.

  6. It's also "pay to cf" now.

  7. I never realised until I was talking to imf the otr

  8. I never realised till I was talking to imf the other day. Osw is dieing because of the trillions made on events. So if ur stripped of 6tril and ur not that big all u have to do is wait 14 days to get that back

  9. It's too easy to fund strips (and then recover from them). Hit EBs long enough and you can strip again. You can perpetually war, your only limited resource now is players.

From a strictly fiscal perspective, it's almost smarter for the side who has done the most damage to date to request a cf first. The moment your opponent is potless and down to mostly plunder allies is the moment you're at the greatest advantage you'll have, from this point forward you'll probably be taking more damage in terms of monetary losses than your opponent will.

  10. People don't even hit in osw anymore, it's pathetic

  11. I asked for an OSW / PVP scoreboard repeatedly years ago ...would cut down on a lot of the drama caused by lies & a lot of this trolling that you people complain about would flat out disappear

  12. But of course no one really wants now do they? ...it's what I've been saying all along KAW is more RP then most of you will admit.

put up an OSW / nonevent PvP scoreboard and we'll see who the real warriors are but then KAW would lose money because all the fakers/poseurs would have nothing to hide their lies behind

Hell don't even have to put up an OSW/PvP scoreboard just make battle stats viewable to all ...same results, a lot of BS would just melt away

It'll never be done though lol

  13. Well, reset bombs are gone. That's gotta suck quite a bit and impact osw to some extent.

  14. Why? (I agree they should have never stopped resets) but just drop build, same thing really actually better if you ask me

  15. Getting stripped sucks, MP strip not so much.

But having that power to reset is somewhat amazing, especially when you blow it up on your enemy. You both lost some gold. Hidden/secret reset bombs are even better.

Way overpriced reset bombs also deter the enemy (to some extent) from stripping you to begin with, who wants a 15T bomb on their hands?

Plus there's the added drama from your enemy selling your reset bomb to some innocent bystander. You still reset it, now innocent bystander does not like person who sold him/her a reset bomb.

Hell, it even helps a *bit* with kaws gold inflation

  16. I honestly think dropping builds better lol ..you can keep equip and rebuild and drop build again later on ...and the rebuild is easier.

Plus an acct purposely built to reset is easier to spot

  17. You could also do that, it works too. I don't think equipment is a biggy with all these b2b events.

I would love to see resets re enabled. :)

  18. How is that better? The whole point of a reset is to make them lose money. If you drop build they can still wait to drop at 60%.

  19. I noticed the hidden allies the day I came back. I would have been shocked, if it wasn't for the devs history of protecting the "investments" of the top spenders.

Someone told me about the reset bombs while I was inactive. Told them the same thing. Devs aren't in it for the game, they are in it for the money.

  20. From my perspective, there are 2 main problems contributing to the change in OSW.

    1. Packet sniffing.

Because ATA doesn't encrypt their web traffic, any kid with a bit of coding skill can build a complete profile of any kaw account, including reading PMs, active times and clan history, gold out, allies owned, and a whole lot more I'm not gonna list here. And as far as I'm aware, ATA doesn't consider this cheating.

    2. Lack of fresh meat

Now this part is purely anecdotal, but my clam has been open (with a shot break) for almost 2 months. We've recruited a total of 2-3 actual new players, despite hundreds of ads posted. Most of the accounts we got were alts.

Now, this is in stark contrast to the clam I owned in 2012, when generally you'd get new folks every few ads posted.

Of course, that doesn't necessarily prove, absolutely, that there aren't new players coming in. But it is my belief that most people who are interested in OSW have been playing for years and are already hiding in one of the major alliances. They put their throw away alts in other clans and "OSW" with that account to keep their main hidden. And since it seems there are little/few new players coming in, there's not much room for new power to establish to shift the balance away from the existing power distribution.

Maybe other clam owners have been more successful in recruiting, but I've spoken to a few, and there seems to be a general consensus that there's very few new players coming into the game.

What all this means for the future of kaw? Hell if I know lol. I'm just having fun riding this till it dies out.

But in general, I agree with the others in this thread. The days of sitting on targets and ruining their game has been gone for quite some time. Now it's all about events and HTE.
