Lets be honest guys/girls this is already a hugely addictive game if you have enough time to learn and fall in love with it. But having recently started an alt and quickly given up with it due to not havin an ally for longer than 3 seconds before somebody comes along and bumps the price upto stupidly OP the problem is obv and so is the solution.... Im sure you are aware of newbie grey?? Give that a boost to help new players i.e minor gradual gold income when not on but cuts after a few days inactivity, also it could cloak allies until the grey is lifted
i saw someone else suggest a similar thing. i believe it was more "make the newb spell give max plunder". i quite liked that one. simple and effective way to help new players past the first few days.
This would keep players interested until they become full time KAWers then mayb in the near future add some new features like a new castle upgrade perhaps you could customize your units appearance so when u attack a fellow kawer they can see what units were used ?? Just ideas that the devs should be lookin into to shake it up a bit
you cant force anyone to participate though. the offer was given and they declined. its not unreasonable to consider alternative ways to encourage spending for those players.
He has a very valid point though in almost everything suggested is something most of the top players can already afford which will in effect just widen the chasm between LB and newbs. The entire basis of the problem for this argument is the KaW economy and the game overall is in reality daunting for any new players. Adding new things to buy that produce anything that is beneficial (lands, inferno farms, mith farms, etc.) Will only widen this massive gap. The one major check to balance the massive amount of gold out there is PvP and OSW. That's it. In a game where the entire point of the game is to build for war too many people don't war.
What if you had weekly ally cost rate? You pay the upfront cost to buy one, plus a certain percentage of the buying cost every week or so. So that you're not just sitting on allies and piles of money. You could integrate into KaW as being a fee for "upkeep" or something.
Thats an interesting concept but would drive people further from war. You wouldn't want inc to have gold out to maintain gold for owning allies. The best way to get gold (if you're not rich enough) is to EB. So this would in effect push us further away from being a PvP game and more into a PvE game.
this isn't about "closing the gap". this is about finding an outlet for gold other than allies. and this "war is the answer"? war is possible now. the problem exists now. if war was going to save the day, the problem wouldn't exist. i'm going to repeat: the problem is that the people using allies for these huge volley transfers are UNTOUCHABLE for the majority of people in kaw. these aren't people that the average player (or group of players) can fight.
And what you're refusing to hear is that this proposition is at best a temporary fix for a bigger problem. If anything, as pointed out, it'll only make the problem worse in time. The ally market is the way it is. Without a major overhaul of the entire market that's not going to change and you better believe that would be protested by the people the devs listen to, the Leaderboard. So the only thing we can do, as the player base, is to find a way to change it ourselves. It's entirely possible, just need to get more people back to competitive game play.
refusing to hear? i've stated myself that it would be temporary. :? i'm just trying to extend the life of kaw here, not make it an eternal app.
