Old school war strategy guide

  1. Since the introduction of t4 the Hansel build has lost much of what it once was in a war

In previous times I played a hansel because I preferred support in wars to being a sweeper. At one point since my allies were all pure spies I had enough spy stats to pin LB players with assassinations and make all wins.

Currently I don't see much value for them in a war senario. They're easy to farm from either spy or troops so can dogpiled out of a war real fast.

Since spies can't be pinned you can have 100 people stealing a player and all they have for defense is pots and towers. I'd say have loads of pots, and if you do war lots or if (like distance sez) you make your enemies so mad they poop buy a tower.

Lesser spies smash their bodies against my tower so much I don't get much high pot burn when I have my allies at my regular levels. Granted that can change if they spend loads of pots buning mine, or set some BC OSF's on the job, but they have to spend loads of people on me to get me dug out of my defense.

Sadly your tower earns 0 plunder. In the age of pwars you have to be a serious jerk to need a tower in your build. I make enough trouble so that my tower is paying to protect my pot load.

Remember too that the defender has the advantage. If the stats are even it's not likely the attacker will win.

In any event I'd strip a hansel first before other builds as it allows my team a great farm that they won't spend attack pots to hit so all can have a backup if they need to stay potted.

  2. At last a thread well worth reading.as a youngling kaw player last October I found myself in the great clan called zaft - destiny.I was blown away by the dedication of my fellow clan members while the uwf war was in full flow.fighting beside ppl like yuex (sweeper) artigas(burner) rickythepoolman(burner) and me I was the hunter which I loved.today so much of these skills have been lost. Tyvm for the misty eyed memories of the great kaw at war game x

  3. Good strategies, Distance.
I miss you in WiG. Both you and Swabia...

I'm grateful, the rest of the strategies are not revealed.

It's unfortunate that ZAFTies do not comment on Forums. They have good strategies too. Learnt from them. They're good.

BTW, WiG is CLOSED to Applications currently. You may apply to iGNiTE, just make sure you are sponsored by an iG

  4. Dear Distance,

How tht revolution against the noobs plan going.

  5. Sweeper and great little guide 

  6. Im no longer an activist. Too lazy for it. I just wanna play the game and have fun. Besides if u r in the right clan this is not a pw game. Pws just fill the time between wars. Ig gets in lotsa fights still. We had an osw last week.

  7. Very nice - thank you distance. I know there are lots of other specific roles, but I like playing the role of 'seeker' with my build., and have found it to be quite helpful.

In short, it's kind of like a sweeper, except focusing on any pure spy builds, leaks, and hansels. Know which enemies are pure spy, and periodically check to see if they have gold out (because they are actively stealing perhaps), post on cc and hit until they bank their gold.

Also works for any leaks you find that the enemy is not pinning, and for hansel-ish builds that assume they can't be hit with 0 gold out (if they're not expecting another hansel to be hitting them). For the last one no need to post cc (unless you have other hansel clannies), just hit away (if you are a hansel-ish build). Plus, for those hansel-ish builds, you use your spies for ass/scout bomb support (and, obviously, steals where appropriate).

    Sorry for the long post.

  8. Hansels are still useful in war. but obviously people don't know how to use them based on the description above.

  9. Yeah, they distract the greedy guys

  10. This is Flipping Awesome

  11. One minor note. A stripper can Also be a banker. By keeping a low profile in the war you can be able to go undetected allowing you to amass a few hundred bil to facilitate a large amount bought from the bigger players. And there's other ways of playing the banker. I know of at least 4 different ways/types of banks but I'm gonna not share those lest they used against me lol.

Another note. So long as someone is being stripped try and keep a spy open for crystal runs of the target. This will facilitate attack builds the Ability to use more crystals as targets go dtw for attack. Also great for hansel runs and helps to rebuild pots mid-war

  12. Otherwise distance. Incredibly well put together guide bro.

  13. Swabs. The smaller hansels, such as myself, do more damage than larger ones IMO. My pots/allies prevent most from getting through without the big pot and I don't pay crap. And with my spy allies I'm rarely caught so I float by under the radar often

  14. Banks are so secretive in clans i didnt want to mention them. Any time i say bank in the guide im referring to buying attack pots to later sell. Once again this is not a comprehensive guide but an example for players seeking more depth to the game. Thank you for your input though.

  15. Great guide...one I'd recommend for any newer player who wants to play the game for FUN. plunder wars are so boring...real wars make this game fun. There's tons of strategy involved in this game...this guide is the tip of the iceberg. But a GREAT way to wet the palate of those players thirsty for knowledge.

  16. great guide distance 

if you don't remember me, I'm the person from that art forum 

  17. while reading about war strategy might be a good way to wet the palate, the best way to do it is to actually hit the battle list and start some wars. i think a lot of pw noobs would be surprised by how much fun this game can be.
