New Players Growing

Discussion in 'Ideas + Feature Requests' started by IllfreedemIll, Dec 18, 2014.

  1. The fact that there isn't a single ally to be found under 1b isn't due to volleying newbies that show up on the wc and ask for an initial volley. But due to the fact that some players seem to make their gold by volleying all accounts they can find under a certain price level.

This is extremely annoying for new players as well as even for old ones trying to test if they are at max ally bonus plunder. It is a phenomenon that I saw arising only a few months ago and I think the game should somehow accomodate to this by some mechanism for newbies.

How about having newbies buy a "dummy" ally during their tutorial that would put them at max ally bonus plunder during their newbie week, be unhirable and disappear after a week... It could even be a spell activated during that tutorial, teaching basic concepts about allies and plunder (something I always missed there).

  2. Who cares that new players have a hard time growing without paying for seals? I know I'm changing my position, but the devs have a server to maintain, they have to be paid, and it's certainly not cheap to maintain a huge multiplayer mobile game like KaW along with the support that keeps it up and running.

If you want to keep playing this game, your loyalty should be bound to the devs. After all, no one owns their account here. Also, anyone who does make a new account is certainly bound to be playing the game already. Wait a sec, isn't having multiple accounts against the ToS? Support the devs with "donations" instead of trying to bypass the game mechanics with new alt creation. Buy nob, buy crystals, buy seals, and buy everything they offer to help "donate" for keeping the game up. I worry about the game being shut down by ATA because of the decreasing retention rate.

Of course, the devs are worrying about new players being discouraged by incredibly slow growth and the overall player retention rate being lowered. They'll fix it eventually; give them time. Stop creating alts and stop volleying new players in the meantime.

I liked that suggestion of giving new players a spell in which they had max ally plunder for the duration of their activity online. That would work pretty well. It would also make everyone buying and selling at the 30b - 50b range much happier to see faster trades.

  3. it seams to me ppl just want things handed to them yea its a up hill battle i know i am less than 90 days old myself i went thru it it was tough but activity and the willingness to et it done has to be there. This is not a lazy persons game you actually have to work at this game and seek out resources to be successful i dont think the game needs a makeover as far as noobs i think ppl just need to be smart enuf to find what they need its all here for you what more can you want my good there are ppl in wc offering to help.a tutorial.starter clans threadsi think ppl are just wanting it to be easier as with everything else in life gimmie gimmie :) happy holidays kaw

  4. Agreed i also started an alt and must say the devs have changed a lot and its better. There are a few changes that can be made to insure new players get a wonderful experience in kaw.

    -New spell for Max plunder-
I see this is a good thing but lets make it to where they get to a certain cs it goes off.I recommend 500cs as its set as minimal stats to enter most clans.

-New spell that prevents them from being hired pass a point while they are below 500cs-
This spell will keep them from going op from bigger players hiring them. This will also loosen some tense in the allie market.Smallers players will have someone to hire.

    -Add pots use in tutorial-
I dont remember them showing how to use pots to new players.Pots are very important to the kaw community as they are the point between winning and losing

    -Regarding inactives-
ive heard something about devs are resetting accounts.I think that should end because in actives are sometimes the only way for new players can get allies.Thats once op allies stop.

Thats just a starting point.I dont really post on forums so if i went off topics sorry.

  5. There is no problem with the market down here. This is all a bunch of baloney. Its quite easy to

    1) get vollied to 20b
    2) use the gold to buy / upgrade guilds
    3) find a clan doing warbeasts and save 300m to use riding ally market vollies
    4) save gold to 1b and hire allies

Having said that, i specifically made a forum post everyone hated about increasing the amount of gold that is available from the oracle. Cant have it both ways folks. You all hated the idea of increasing gold by paying nobility, and you all flamed the idea of spy quests for more gold/xstals for resets and new players.

How about you all figure out what you really want, and come up with a solution. Right now, I see no solutions because the current tools we have, you all don't like to utilize.

  6. Conspiracy theory:
A group of people have decided kill kaw. They then went about volleying every small ally they could find, so new players can't mp and grow. New players don't stick around due to this, and as more veteran players leave than new players join, kaw fades away.

  7. I actually saw a 505m ally the other day, it wasn't being volleyed or anything. I saw it though. It was so pretty, haven't seen one like that in probably over 2 years now. I love kaw inflation

  8. What you're describing sounds like a Ponzi scheme. New players enter the game and can only survive on ally volleys if more new players enter the pyramid.

  9. If there were zero new players creating accounts, the game would die pretty quickly. So yes, it is a pyramid system reliant on multiple new players to survive. Otherwise we would kill off all lower ebs and be forced to grow new accounts solely by battle list.

Which would be fine, I spent 3 weeks farming battle list without EBs. The problem is battle list stone walls when you come across people with equipment, which is stronger than available pots with low gold.

  10. Another idea would be that allies under 1bil can only be hired by players who are not yet lowland complete. I know it would make it harder to volley new players, but that's okay because it would teach them right away that you don't grow by getting volleyed but by being active.
