My Thoughts on The Shard Event, And Ideas For Improvment

  1. I don't think shard loss was issue but hitting down verse hitting up payout wrong, you really weren't rewarded for hitting up. PS verse PS1, attk build really cannot hit PS, maybe you get one hit before DTW. Yet that same player can strip farm you of all your shards. In addition this was trickle up ie everyone got 10 shards a day - big fish eat little fish (look at leader board), reward system needs to be tiered or lower lvls more daily shards making worth a hit. toward the end it seemed everyone was after whales (large holders)who were up 24/7 trying to be DTW. It got a little stale especially if you went 1500 to 500 and back again. I thought event was awesome, but worried next time 75% opt out. Possibly myself included as deck really stacked in favor of large PS builds, largest players. Which in some way I get, small country vs large, but it s that what it was all about??? Deep thought 

  2. Maybe everyone needed to start with 1000 shards. Diminish return on repeated hits would help to ie 1000 shard holder first hit w/ sword 1st 20 second 18 third 15 forth 10 fifth 5, (keep ratio ie no sword 10,8,5,3)15min open to pay 20 or 10 again. Dev are probably scratch heads, make it a ward spell that cast on first hit and where's off in 15min then open again

  3. Can you put me on the ban list?

  4. odd request, but here ya go.

  5. Once you had a huge cache of shards you couldn't even use a x-tal. I was losing over 300 shards per hit toward the end. It was horrible losing over 1000 shards with just a couple of hits.

The entire event revolved around staying dtw and hitting from the pin and that's pretty much it.

It was odd seeing particular war clans whining the most about taking hits. I guess it's ok for them to hit who they like but not ok for anyone else. Idiots

  6. Hahaha totally agree. It's all one way init️️

  7. Dtw and sword conversation.

first 2 days were fun we were still figuring out the system. myself, as a hansel, wasn't even banking or pinning.
taking hits was how i found decent targets and swords.

maybe if there was a way to have a feature that rated your inc to out going hits. if your inc is on the larger side of that percentage then you would recieve a high amount of shards per drop.
    vs versa,
if you out going hit is significantly higher than your inc then you would recieve the minimum amount per drop.

basically hitting from pin carries a large penalty.

  8. Don't put the end of the event on a major american holiday. I'm sure many were screwed over because of the timing.

  9. I agree with everything that you have stated. It was also a poor time for the event with Thanksgiving right around the corner.

  10. If 0 shards mean 0 payout then we would never be able to have the event because in the beginning everyone had 0 shards.

  11. Support
I got yelled at for having my phone out during thanksgiving dinner :X

  12. no. they gave everyone 50 shards in the beginning, and 10 more each day.

  13. Support for all 3 idea's

  14. Ooh ok i stand corrected.

  15. As everybody as been saying, spies had a huge advantage. Most of my shards came from steals (and I'm not a spy nor a hansel) simply because I stayed hidden, attacking made me a target and there was no way in hell I could make enough attacking to offset the retaliation after the first 500 shards.

There was no inherent advantage to hitting somebody bigger than you unless they had a ton of shards, I originally started targeting people twice my size - but after a day I realized that it'd be easier to hammer people smaller because the payout was similar but risk was smaller (I ended up targeting some folk around 160% my size due to shard payout - they had shards).

The shard losses were absurd - losing 10% of your shards receiving a single unload (thank you KotFE and LHL ;) ) made the initial days a waste compared to the last few and made the last 6 hours a self pin fest by near everybody.

    So, suggestions;

    1) Do something about keeping rewards - once you hit a tier you keep it for example but can still lose shards to below that point. Or rather than keep the tier indefinitely if you get say, 1000, you keep the 1000 rewards until you're brought below 500, at which that's your locked tier, etc.
    2) I liked the sword. I only had it once, but it was fun for the few hours. I never had glim but I support that too.
    3) Make size more important to shards earned - I should have to fight somebody who can fight back to earn any decent amount. Reducing loss wouldn't hurt either, if I don't have to worry about losing half my shards in like 2 hours I'm free to experiment with targeting more.

  16. How did SkinnyMinny get so much shards? Do players of lower tier pay as much as players of higher tier? Is it possible to get a few hundred shards per hit at with that stats?

To be frank I was quite surprised at the end of the event that there were players much smaller than me with as much as 10k shards?!

I can hardly get to 1k shards at my level though with players twice my size sitting on me. Maybe I didn't self pin enough :(

  17. Nicd thread. Some good points, I completely agree with the shard loss most of all though.
