THANKYOU. FINALLY. Anyway... People: Omg, the Percy Jackson movies were SOOO good! Demigods: You can let a hydra eat you now.
I am legend the movie was nothing like the book the ending was completely different and the only similarity at the end was that he ends up killing himself.
I disagree, that movie with Leo as Romeo was horrible! Of course, it's an adaptation into modern-ness, but it was horrible. I watched it last year in English class. With that, I agree that Leo does not deserve an Oscar for that particular movie. #Leo'sHopefulEyes
The Outsiders is such a garbage piece of literature. I have no idea why they made us read it in English.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey is a great book. But the movie with Jack Nicholson was outstanding.
Almost any movie that was written as a movie or television series first and then adapted to book format. More often than not, the book adaption either ignores the nuances given to the script by the actors, or trivializes it with feeble interpretations of what the adaptor thought the actor was doing. Books and movies are such different mediums it is very difficult to tell the same story. On occasion, a movie can tell a different story to great effect. For example, the book "Jurassic Park" was phenomenal, and a better and deeper story than the movie which truncated many of its themes. However, the thrill of seeing the dinosaurs brought to life in the movie, in such a dramatic and often terrifying way, more than made up for any lost complexity.
I disagree with those saying that the hunger games movies are better than the books. I was completely obsessive when reading the books. Finished them all in 3 days. The first movie nearly put me to bed and the movies never quite captured the book in anything close to what I visualized.
My faith in the movie industry has plummeted so low that I don't even want Stormlight Archive books, despite it being my favorite series ever. The first two that are out are both over 1000 pages. That means to capture the story in its entirety they'd need two or even three part movies for both of them. And it's going to have ten books. Even if there's a good director, good special effects, and it's accurate, we'd be looking at, potentially, 30 movies. Mistborn, on the other hand...
I personally don't watch that many movies, but the Hunger Games is pretty much better than the book. Can't wait for Mockingjay, if my mom lets me see it...
Omg Jinx! I haven't seen the tv version but damn the books go on and on and on! Like, I finished them but I didn't really enjoy them.
I highly disagree. The best movies made from books are the Hunger Games, The Hobit, and the swedish films covering The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who Played with fire, and The Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest. Also, Tomorrow when the War Begins was an amazing Aussy movie that was depicted from an amazing book. Still, that being said, the books were far Better in my personal opinion. Though I will add, that I enjoy reading books over watching movies.
My sister has read the books and had said that the TV series is much more enjoyable. I can actually see TV series coming close to a book due to the amount of time they have to include all of the details that go into books.
I really enjoy both series of the Percy Jackson saga. They are very amazing reads. I will also give it to Disney, where ever they found those actors, the main cast anyways, they damn near match the looks of the characters that imagined in the book. Though as for the movie plot, the story, the set ups, and the character development. Disney basically took a royal **** on the books. I honestly think they truly dropped the ball when the decided to make the books a movie. I believe they would make more money and bring in more views of they turned the books into a tv show like game of thrones. Hell just how the books are written you could get a solid season out of each book in the 1st series then split up the 2nd series into 2 seasons. That would make the marker of 7 solid seasons which is the business model for all live action tv series. Note*** I need to find a better color for my texts. -.-
I disagree :/ tomorrow when the war began, an the sequel series Ellie were so much better. Movie didn't do it justice. My picks. The Hobbit, Gone with the Wind , One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest , Divergent (not just for the hot actors) The Princes bride.
Never said the the movie was better than the book. I just believe it was an amazing movie based off of a book. They honestly was as true to the story as a movie with their time frame could honestly be.
