Like a woman's scorn* Sorry couldn't resist the correction. It was too painful. Scorned women tend to be less of a problem.
Hell hath no fury like a women's index finger on your reset button If that's true Time to file for divorce!
I take that back She'd probably get your kaw accounts in the settlement... You can keep the pimd ones...
"The Mourning Bride" (1697) by William Congreve. The complete quote is "Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned / Nor hell a fury like a woman scorned." This is where the contect is derived from. Now, I'm not really certain where you attended college, or high school, but perhaps you should research a little bit before correcting people. You're incorrect in your correction.
Damn I did get info slapped. My bad. Guess I should have majored in liberal arts. Then I would know that quote plus have more time to KaW as I would be unemployed.
Everyone accepts that William Congreve was the biggest pansy in all of Restoration period literature. I adore restoration era lit. And I loathe William Congreve. He is a no talent hack who wished he had the guts to be a Lord Rochester. Spineless pansy. I think I wrote an essay once on why he should NOT be included in a restoration period syllabus.
"we ought never to do wrong when anyone is looking!" -Mark Twain aphorism dedicated to shak speaking of crab talk back there, anyone know what happened to the thread that was titled ig and blackhand? the one that had the screenshot convo of how an ig family admin said some ig council members weren't exactly comfortable with how the osw started etc. Not word for word but it was towards that extent; it's missing again all of the sudden
only asking because a lot of threads concerning this osw have been taken down. some have been taken down, reopened only to be taken down again, as was the case with the ig and blackhand thread.

Admittedly, I cannot debate literature, but John Wilmot is far more interesting to read than most. Between him and John Dryden, there is enough lewdness to keep my feeble brain interested.
Dryden was a pawn. Poet laureate that should have gone to Alexander Pope. Wilmot at least had the guts to die with dignity! (Shriveled and insane from syphilis)
Syphilis. Booze. Women. He was the Keith Richards of his time... Why does everyone hate on Dryden, though. I did a paper on Marriage A-la-Mode, was pretty decent.
