Calydor (yes, the Warbeasts guy) has to be:

1: Fired sleeping potions on, a couple of thousand at best

2: High-tech scouts for weaknesses.

3: Even after that, with multiple Kingdoms throwing themselves upon him, when you attack Calydor you still lose many troops per hit.
